DO YOU REALLY KNOW GOD LOVES YOU?
Posted on August 10, 2021 at 4:00 AM |
Do You know God loves you? Deeply? Perfectly? He cherishes us and has designed a great life for each of us. To know His love, we must get to know Him. How do we come to know Him? He is found in the Bible. You see, the Bible is the Word of God. His thoughts are written here, and spending time in the Bible is how we get acquainted with God, and we come to love Him as well. Abba, Father, cherishes us with a perfect love. But for what purpose did He create us? One purpose is because God wanted a family to love. We are His kids.
Another is found is in 1 John:
1 John 4:7-11,18-19 TPT
God Is Love
Those who are loved by God, let His love continually pour from you to one another, because God is love. Everyone who loves is fathered by God and experiences an intimate knowledge of Him. 8 The one who doesn’t love has yet to know God, for God is love.[a] 9 The light of God’s love shined within us[b] when He sent his matchless [c] Son into the world so that we might live through Him.
So the Word tells us because of Jesus and His payment of our sin debt, we have the marvelous love of God in us, and it can pour through us to others. We become carriers of His love.
[d] 10 This is love:[e] He loved us long before we loved him. It was his love, not ours. He proved it by sending his Son to be the pleasing sacrificial offering to take away our sins.[f]
11 Delightfully loved ones, if He loved us with such tremendous love, then “loving one another” should be our way of life!
Footnotes for 1 John
4:8 Or “God continually exists, being love.”
4:9 Or “God’s love was revealed among us.” The base word for “revealed” is phainō, “to shine light.”
4:9 Or “only begotten.” That is, Jesus had no beginning and was the eternal Son of God as part of the triune essence or Godhead.
4:9 The Aramaic can be translated “that we might live in His hand,” considered to be an idiom for living by His grace.
4:10 The Aramaic can be translated “This is how love was born.”
4:10 The Greek term hilasmos can be described as “a cleansing, satisfying sacrifice that provides a covering shelter.” A form of the word is used for “mercy seat” in Hebrews.
God’s love provides the answers for life’s greatest questions:
Why was I created? To receive and experience God’s love.
Does God care about me? God’s love is indiscriminate; he loves everyone and cares about every detail of our lives.
Am I really free to choose or reject God’s love? Yes—love must be a choice, freely and without compulsion.
What is the way of salvation? Love became a man, Jesus Christ, who died as our sacrificial offering and by believing in Him we receive the gift of salvation.
How can I really know that I am saved? When we respond with faith to God’s loving invitation and then demonstrate it by loving others, we have the assurance of our salvation.
How can I know that God loves me? His love prompted Him to send his unique and beautiful Son to the earth to be our Savior and Redeemer. He offers to everyone the invitation to experience even deeper measures of his love. And he gives us his Holy Spirit as confirmation that He loves and cherishes us and gives us the power to love others.
See Ephesians. 3:16–18
May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your innermost being and personality], 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through your faith. And may you, having been [deeply] rooted and [securely] grounded in love, 18 be fully capable of comprehending with all the saints (God’s people) the width and length and height and depth of His love [fully experiencing that amazing, endless love
What Jesus did for us is explained in Romans. We become new creatures:
Romans 5:1-5
Our New Life
5 Our faith in Jesus transfers God’s righteousness to us and He now declares us flawless in His eyes.[a] This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace[b] with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, has done for us. 2 Our faith guarantees us permanent access into this marvelous kindness[c] that has given us a perfect relationship with God. What incredible joy bursts forth within us as we keep on celebrating our hope of experiencing God’s glory!
5 . . . we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us![f]
Footnotes
5:1 Or “having already been declared righteous.” What bliss! We are declared righteous in the eyes of the Holy God. This is the wonder of grace!
5:1 Or “Let us enjoy peace with God.” The Greek word for peace is eirene and can also mean “to join” (as in a dove-tail joint). We have entered into the union of our lives with God’s peace and enjoy lasting friendship with God. The Hebrew word is shalom, which means abundant peace and well-being. 5:2 Or “grace.”
My friends, Look at all we gain through our relationship with our loving God. If you do not enjoy that now, I encourage you to begin today. Accept the gift of salvation offered by Jesus; admit you are a sinner and thank Him for paying for your sin debt through His crucifixion and death. He rose again and we rejoice, as we accept His gift; we are free of guilt and are seen sin free by the Father. We are redeemed! We are cleansed! We are perfectly loved by the perfect Father!

SEARCHING FOR A CLOSER WALK WITH GOD
AWESOME GOD

DIGGING DEEPER
Sometimes the terrible awesomeness of God hits me and sends me reeling into deep meditation. It always carries its reward of a new closeness with my God. It happened this morning. In the beginning I was distracted with my mind wandering here and yon. Then I ‘woke up’ and commanded it to return. God is so good! Holy Spirit began to lead me in prayer.
Sorry, my Lord. I come to our meeting this morning with scattered thoughts; help me, Lord, to rein them in. That You even desire to meet with me is so amazing! Deep breath. Moses asked God, “what shall I say when they ask 'Who sent me’?” You responded, “Say the Great I AM sent me.” You, God, are not hemmed in by time. For You there is no ‘was, will be’, there is only I AM. Before You I bow down my heart, my 'who I am' I submit to You; help me become who You created me to be.
Exodus 3:13-14 (AMP)
13 And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them? 14 And God said to Moses, I Am Who I Am and What I Am, and I Will Be What I Will Be; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I Am has sent me to you!
- Footnotes: Exodus 3:15 To know the name of God is to witness the manifestation of those attributes and apprehend that character which the name denotes.
Can you feel the depth of that name? 'I AM' signifies so much ~ timelessness, absolute love, supreme power, unimaginable expansion ~ an incomprehensible being, totally surrounding. There simply are not words to express the grandness of Who our God is. HIS LOVE FOR US S SO APPARENT IN HIS WORD!
Psalm 91:14 (AMP)
Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].
Isaiah 52:6 (AMP)
Therefore My people shall know what My name is and what it means; therefore they shall know in that day that I am He who speaks; behold, I Am!
Indeed my God! You are the great I AM! This measures so deep and so high and so wide. You revealed Your staggering magnificence to David, and it comes out here:
Psalm 139:1-10
O Lord, you have examined my heart
and know everything about me.
2 You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
Even when it’s my mind traveling on tangents.
3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home.
You know everything I do.
4 You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
5 You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand!
7 I can never escape from your Spirit!
I can never get away from your presence!
8 If I go up to heaven, you are there;
if I go down to the grave, you are there.
9 If I ride the wings of the morning,
if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
and your strength will support me.
You are always with me.
You will guide me.
You will always be my support. Your strength
upholds me, protects me, supports me.
Lord, You are so good! What a privilege to know You! Thank You that You continue to grow me closer to You. Thank You! I love being together with You, my Lord.
