LOOKING AT WHAT HAPPENED

Posted on May 22, 2021 at 4:15 AM

We know the story of Adam and Eve ~ God told ADAM he could eat from any tree in the garden, except the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the middle of the garden.

Genesis 2:15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

When satan, the snake, entered the garden and spoke deception to Eve intimating that God was holding out on them not allowing them to eat of the tree the middle of the garden, that she w,ould be like God knowing everything. He showed her how delicious the fruit looked encouraging her to taste it. She did, then gave some to Adam to eat.

Adam’s disobedience brought a curse into the earth and in mankind; it birthed sin in the world God created for goodness. Some think it was Eve who should be punished, but it was to Adam that God gave the command, so the sin passes down through Adam’s seed infecting humans bringing them into the world subjected to satan and sin.

There was no possibility for people to go and be with God after death because they were born with a sinful nature and God’s nature cannot tolerate sin. God loves His children (us) and wanted to spend eternity with us.The only just solution was for a divine / human to pay the price for a human betraying a Divinity. Jesus stepped up to the plate and did that; He was willing to become human and take the punishment for the sin. So Jesus was born under the power of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin. Thus there was no seed of Adam in Jesus.

What a tremendous task this was for Jesus, but He loves us so much that He took upon Himself the sin of mankind and suffered the just punishment for us. So as soon as we repent of our sins, and accept the gift Jesus died to give us, we become new and the sin nature is cleansed out of us, and we receive Jesus’ nature. God becomes our Father withus having His DNA.

2 Peter 1:4 (TPT)

4 As a result of this, he has given you[a] magnificent promises[b] that are beyond all price, so that through the power of these tremendous promises[c] we can experience partnership[d] with the divine nature, by which you have escaped[e] the corrupt desires that are of the world.

FOOTNOTES

1:4 The Greek word koinonos means “to participate as a partner, to partake of, to be a companion with, to have fellowship with” the divine nature. This is one of the great mysteries of our faith, that God shares his nature with us. We are given birth by the Holy Spirit to be God’s true sons and daughters, and every father imparts his DNA and his “nature” to his children. The Greek word physis (nature) is taken from the word phyō, which means “to give birth, produce, bring forth, or to grow up.” Christ lives in us and transforms us into his very own likeness. In Christ we share with him the divine nature. We will all bear the image of the man from heaven

Jesus told the Pharisees that the devil is their Father:

John 8:43-44 (AMP)

Why do you misunderstand what I am saying? It is because [your spiritual ears are deaf and] you are unable to hear [the truth of] My word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and it is your will to practice the desires [which are characteristic] of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar and the father of lies and half-truths.

We were born of the devil too; However, when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, the change in us transfers us into the Kingdom of God. This is possible because we now are truly Children of God; He is our real Father and we are reborn with His nature! The satanic nature has been completely cleansed out of us by the blood of Jesus.

My friends, having this new nature brings the Holy Spirit to indwell us; thus we can develop a new understanding of the relationship with our Father. We are no longer spiritually dead! We become alive in a new way ~ wisdom, enlightenment, and the joy of God’s promises for us become personal ~ An incredible blessing!

SEARCHING FOR A CLOSER WALK WITH GOD

                                        AWESOME GOD

 DIGGING DEEPER

Sometimes the terrible awesomeness of God hits me and sends me reeling into deep meditation. It always carries its reward of a new closeness with my God. It happened this morning. In the beginning I was distracted with my mind wandering here and yon. Then I ‘woke up’ and commanded it to return. God is so good! Holy Spirit began to lead me in prayer.

Sorry, my Lord. I come to our meeting this morning with scattered thoughts; help me, Lord, to rein them in. That You even desire to meet with me is so amazing! Deep breath. Moses asked God, “what shall I say when they ask 'Who sent me’?” You responded, “Say the Great I AM sent me.” You, God, are not hemmed in by time. For You there is no ‘was, will be’, there is only I AM. Before You I bow down my heart, my 'who I am' I submit to You; help me become who You created me to be.

Exodus 3:13-14 (AMP)

13 And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them? 14 And God said to Moses, I Am Who I Am and What I Am, and I Will Be What I Will Be; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I Am has sent me to you!

  • Footnotes: Exodus 3:15 To know the name of God is to witness the manifestation of those attributes and apprehend that character which the name denotes.

Can you feel the depth of that name? 'I AM' signifies so much ~ timelessness, absolute love, supreme power, unimaginable expansion ~ an incomprehensible being, totally surrounding. There simply are not words to express the grandness of Who our God is. HIS LOVE FOR US  S SO APPARENT IN HIS WORD!

Psalm 91:14 (AMP)

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].

Isaiah 52:6 (AMP)

Therefore My people shall know what My name is and what it means; therefore they shall know in that day that I am He who speaks; behold, I Am!

Indeed my God! You are the great I AM! This measures so deep and so high and so wide. You revealed Your staggering magnificence to David, and it comes out here:

Psalm 139:1-10

O Lord, you have examined my heart

and know everything about me.

2 You know when I sit down or stand up.

You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.

Even when it’s my mind traveling on tangents.

3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home.

You know everything I do.

4 You know what I am going to say

even before I say it, Lord.

5 You go before me and follow me.

You place your hand of blessing on my head.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,

too great for me to understand!

7 I can never escape from your Spirit!

I can never get away from your presence!

8 If I go up to heaven, you are there;

if I go down to the grave, you are there.

9 If I ride the wings of the morning,

if I dwell by the farthest oceans,

10 even there your hand will guide me,

and your strength will support me.

You are always with me.

You will guide me.

You will always be my support. Your strength

upholds me, protects me, supports me.

Lord, You are so good! What a privilege to know You! Thank You that You continue to grow me closer to You. Thank You! I love being together with You, my Lord.
