Cast Up A Highway

Matthew 16:25 MSG
Then Jesus went to work on his disciples. “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat; I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self. What kind of deal is it to get everything you want but lose yourself? What could you ever trade your soul for?
I had to smile when I came across this Scripture in the Message Bible. (This version makes the Word so down to earth). There is no question or ambiguity about just what Jesus is saying here. He is in the lead and we follow Him. It means we submit to God, listen to what He says, and go where He instructs. Many of us rebel when told what we have to do, but following Jesus takes us to exactly where we need to be to live a fulfilled life.
With Jesus in the driver’s seat we have no choice but to go where He “takes the car”; we ride along and enjoy the scenery. . . sometimes. Of course it can also be a drive along treacherous trails; in this case we have no fear, because we trust Jesus in the driver’s seat to get us through the danger safely. That does not mean we don’t sometimes shut our eyes and not look; some situations are really hard! But when we just trust Him, He will always bring us through whatever ‘hard’ we encounter. He is so faithful!
“Don’t run from suffering, embrace it,” I recently learned about this in a close up encounter. The enemy decided I needed to be taken down, so he began his attack with a physical condition that the docs had no answer for, an auto-immune condition. Then a bone on bone hip became a painful problem that required replacement. Date set. Then a growing mole began bleeding. We know that spells danger, but getting in to see a dermatologist is difficult. Bandage on lymphydemic arm caused breakout. Then I woke up with vertigo one night. Next night my eyes were blurry. All these things were at once in a short period of time~ The auto`immune had been around and the bone on bone had been a growing problem for awhile, but once the date for surgery had been set, the attacks increased.
Now I had defeated the devil with Jesus and His Word once before with a cancer attack back in 2005. But I found with all the darts coming at once, it left me temporarily weak~ until a prayer session with some warriors brought everything into the clear.
My perspective totally changed~ I realized that I could trust God for all these things~ He was big enough to handle them all at one time. And as I trusted Him to heal me completely, I would come out stronger and with a whole new idea of healing. This would push me closer to the purpose God had set for my life. I would reach the goal that could have been illusive if I had not gone through this trial. So I now look at these hard times with joy and thanksgiving that God is allowing me to experience these tests. It is preparation for the next level. I'm truly grateful for this hard time.
My friends, you can always put your faith and trust in our God! Whatever your ‘hard’ is, see past the devil plan, and ride along with Jesus just leaning on Him when it gets too difficult for you alone to handle. He is always there to support you! His promises are true!
Be blessed my friends!

Easter approaches on swift wings of time; and as we celebrate this beautiful season, prayers of love and thanksgiving are offered to Jesus, the Son of God, who gave up His divine heritage to become fully human. Why would He do this? He knew His end before He began living this choice, and it meant separation from His Father and a painful death. So why?
There is but one reason: God’s love for us required the sacrifice to atone for original man’s treason against God Almighty. Without divine atonement, man could never go to heaven to be with God for all eternity. The sin would exempt him from ever being close to God. That was the enemy’s evil scheme to ruin God’s creation plans for mankind.
But Love in His heart compelled Jesus to choose to save us. Soon we will celebrate God’s magnificent love and power that redeemed us. We repent for our sins that painfully scarred Jesus flesh and put Him on the cross to die. Then Easter morning we will rejoice at His resurrection! We have been redeemed!
My friends, let us prepare our hearts by meditating on the immense love that God has shone us. Father sent His Son to be beaten and crucified to fulfill the legal obligation of the debt of mankind's sin. He loves us enough to suffer excruciating pain so that we could be with Him for all eternity. Now our choice to accept this wondrous gift opens the door to eternity for us.
Choose to accept Jesus' gift and enjoy an eternity of knowing God from then on, never being separated from Him!

Luke 2:6-14 (AMP)
While they were there [in Bethlehem], the time came for her to give birth, 7 and she gave birth to her Son, her firstborn; and she wrapped Him in [swaddling] cloths and laid Him in a manger, because there was no [private] room for them in the inn.
8 In the same region there were shepherds staying out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord flashed and shone around them, and they were terribly frightened. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people. 11 For this day in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord (the Messiah). 12 And this will be a sign for you [by which you will recognize Him]: you will find a Baby wrapped in [swaddling] cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Then suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host (angelic army) praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest [heaven],
And on earth peace among men with whom He is well-pleased.”
Picture created by artist Carol Loomis.
Lord pierce our hearts with truth. As You lay in that manger warm and fed, Your little eyes search and find the joyful faces of Your parents, and a contentment settles as sleep claims You. On my way here this night, I could not help but notice an exceedingly bright star appears to be casting it’s light upon Your resting place. Now many will be coming to visit You, curiosity alone will draw some, while a wonder and hunger in others will be calling them to find You little Jesus. So this night will not be a quiet time exactly, yet the peace will remain. Lord let this light call people of today to search You out.
Lord God, As we go into this holy season, many are upset, some angry that their person is not head of our country now, but I know Lord, all things are in Your hands; You are the One who will guide our nation, and I trust in You. I bow before Your will.
Lord this special time comes at the end of our calendar year, and I am glad. Our world is in chaos with ISIS plotting and murdering innocent people; Christians in the middle east are being tortured and the godless are trying to exterminate them. It’s a repeat of what happened to the Jewish people at the time of World War II. Our country has not escaped the spirit of violence which is attempting to keep discord alive here.
But Jesus. Yes, Jesus came to bring love, peace and joy. He is the Light of the World and if we walk with Him, we will not walk in darkness.
I was thinking of the shepherds in the field that night. I can see them settling down and chatting quietly together, and then suddenly came a shock, a great angel stood shining in the night and actually speaking to them. They must have looked at first like a deer in the headlights. . . wide eyed, mouth open, speechless in fear.
Then in a calming voice the angel said, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people.” And as he explained to them, expectation and a joy began to build within their hearts. And they beheld a choir of heavenly host singing joyous praise to God! And they left the field to find the Babe who was to be their Savior.
Lord, today in the disruptions going on in the world, we can use a focus on the purity, beauty and innocence of a baby. Jesus, let Your Peace and Love rain down upon our atmosphere, cleansing the harsh hard hatreds away replacing them with a trust in You. Jesus I pray for the quiet Peace of that Holy Night of Your Birth to become wide spread in all our nations this season. May Your Love, Joy, and Peace prevail!

Sometimes, my friends, I find myself overwhelmed by the awareness of how much God loves me. He showed me how He incorporated His plan of salvation in the human body in the Laminin protein molecule (which I blogged about recently: "WOW"). That was exciting to have a small part of His creation revealed to me. Then as I was reading John 15 yesterday, His love for me and for you poured out. Hear these words of Jesus:
10 If you keep My commandments and obey My teaching, you will remain in My love,
just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love.
11) I have told you these things so that My joy and delight may be in you,
and that your joy may be made full and complete and overflowing.
Jesus wants His filling/fulfilling joy to be in us. This was the joy He gave me that sustained me throughout the cancer journey. (See Cast Up A Highway) With His joy we can stand strong through any storm or trial!
“I have given and delivered to them Your word (message) and the world has hated them,
because they are not of the world [do not belong to the world], just as I am not of the world.
(15) I do not ask that You will take them out of the world, but that You will keep and protect them from the evil one.”
(16) “They are not of the world (worldly, belonging to the world), [just] as I am not of the world.
When we choose Jesus, we are translated into His Kingdom (Colossians 1:13) and we are no longer of the world. We live in a different plain, a new place. Our hearts now belong to God, and are cleansed and eager to live a life pleasing to Him; we want to fulfill His plan for our lives, not our own worldly one. The desires of our heart are drawn like a magnet to His goodness and righteousness. This contributes to the completeness of who we are, to who we were created to be.
(17) Sanctify them [purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the Truth; Your Word is Truth.”
There is joy, there is gladness, there is the Word and there is protection, there is sanctification or a purifying, there is consecration, there is holiness and truth, the truth of what the Word says. Hallelujah.
(18) “Just as You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. (19) And so for their sake and on their behalf I sanctify (dedicate, consecrate) Myself, that they also may be sanctified (dedicated, consecrated, made holy) in the Truth.
(20) Neither for these alone do I pray [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but also for all those who will ever come to believe in (trust in, cling to, rely on) Me through their word and teaching,
Do you see what this means? Jesus was actually praying for us. Way back 2000 years ago, Jesus prayed for us, yes, that’s you an me.
Next Jesus expresses His dearest wish:
(21) That they all may be one, [just] as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe and be convinced that You have sent Me.(22) I have given to them the glory and honor which You have given Me, that they may be one [even] as We are one:”
Unity is what Jesus desires, that we may truly be one Body. We do not talk religion here; it’s not about that. It’s about the unity “That they all may be one, [just] as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us,” That we all accept Jesus gift of salvation; then we will become one Body.
That’s pretty clear isn’t it, unity in the Body.
(23) “I in them and You in Me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united, that the world may know and [definitely] recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them [even] as You have loved Me.” God loves us so much!
John 17:26 (NIV)
I have made You known to them, and will continue to make You known in order that the love You have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”
Choose to invite Jesus into your heart, and He will settle down and make His home there.
Ephesians 3:17 (NLT)
17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.
My dear friends, with the strength of Christ dwelling within, you can live a life filled with the gifts of God~ power to fight the enemy, fortification to keep yourself and loved ones protected, armor to fight the battle, a mighty supernatural love shielding. Also you can grow deeper into God and receive revelation for your life, and so much more.
May the grace, power, and love of Christ reign over each day of your life!

Lord, many of us want to live our lives for You. In these end time days, the enemy is working mightily, sending out his demon forces to lie and try to decisive us. We ask for Your wisdom to recognize his deceptions, and as Jesus’ ambassadors to use His authority to defeat the enemy’s every attack, and evict any demon that tries to come against us.
Unfortunately, the enemy knows us well and finds our weaknesses to try and lure us back into the worries of the world. But You, my Jesus, have defeated satan for us. We now have the authority of Your mighty name as a weapon to evict the enemy from our lives. We may need to do it on a daily basis, but each time we claim our trust in God and His promises as weapons, our faith grows stronger, for You never fail us Lord!
I learned this by experience. The enemy has been trying hard to attack me. He knows my vulnerabilities. He comes against me in my quiet time with demons of distraction; there have been demons of depression and oppression against me. These two were strong and made some headway until Holy Spirit keyed me into their maneuvers, and reminded me that I have the authority of Jesus Name to evict them from my mind. That I did do! Now they can no longer affect my thinking. I am free.
It is not necessarily that easy all the time. The enemy likes to attack at night when I am usually sleeping; but if I wake up, it's like buzzing bees making mince meat of my mind flooding it with all my vulnerabilities, i.e. financial, find actives for grandkids coming for the weekend, fear of injury on trip, need to do’s before leaving on trip, shopping for trip, packing, and more. . . Finally I get up and pray in my spirit language for a short time then go back to bed. My mind calms down and I'm able to sleep.
Once we claim Christ as our Lord and Savior, we have the victorious ability to use the authority of the mighty Name of Jesus:
Philippians 2:10 (NLV)
So when the name of Jesus is spoken, everyone in heaven and on earth and under the earth will bow down before Him.
It is a learning process. We find Scriptures like the one above teaching us how to operate in and under the auspices of the Holy Spirit; how to call upon the name of Jesus and the power of His shed blood. You know, we do live in Jesus Kingdom, and living in Jesus’ Kingdom empowers us to act with His authority. Here is the Scripture that tells us we do live in The Kingdom of Jesus when we choose Jesus as our King of Kings!
Colossians 1:13 (AMPC)
[The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself
out of the control and the dominion of darkness
and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love
We know where our true home is, now we just need to find out what our job is in this new home. Jesus, the King, will let us know; the the task is to be obedient to what He tells us to do. That leads us to a life of total fulfillment, not the cheap imitation satan wants us to believe in~ feeding our fleshly appetites will not bring lasting happiness. God’s ways of life will.

You know, God tells us "if we seek Him, we will find Him”. And that is so true. As a child, my mother taught me about God and reverencing Him. She taught by example and by words. As an adult, I found that since I set out to truly know God, He has been teaching me. First it was about Father God, and we developed a close relationship. He was the One I “knew” as a child. But when i became an adult, a deeper relationship was established. Then He began teaching me about His Son Jesus, and a close bond was created there as well. Such a joy!
But only recently, He introduced me to the Third Person of the Trinity, Holy Spirit. When I discovered that He loves me dearly also, the relationship blossomed! It is so enriching to have an intimacy with the full Godhead. Does that sound crazy? You might want to try it! :))
Colossians 2:10 (AMPC)
And you are in Him, made full and having come to fullness of life
[in Christ you too are filled with the Godhead—
Father, Son and Holy Spirit—
and reach full spiritual stature].
And He is the Head of all rule and authority
[of every angelic principality and power].
God's Word is a profound teacher about life and living it fully. The last Book of the Bible, Revelation, reveals the ending of the story of life. It teaches that those who choose to follow God and Jesus will be victors. Those who disdained God and rejected Jesus and his gift will end up following their leader, satan, into the lake of fire. They will suffer the eternal punishment of separation from God and living under the devil’s hatred in pain and suffering forever.
Some say, “Oh God is good He would never send people to hell forever. That punishment is too harsh.” But if people have continued to disobey and refuse God’s chances of salvation, they will have no excuse at the mercy seat and will fall under God’s wrath on judgement day. There will be no more chances. They will have condemned themselves to everlasting punishment. His perfect justice will prevail.
My friends, time has speeded up and we do not have forever to choose Jesus. Please come and join those whose names are in the Lamb’s Book of Life. They have chosen to make Jesus the Lord of their lives. They have repented of their sin and accepted Jesus' gift of salvation on the cross. Be one of these dear ones, I plead with you. If you have already done so, great. But if not, do it today and you will spend eternity with God. And He has a great plan for you in this life and in the next. Do not wait, for none of us know our time of death.
John 3:16 (AMPC)
For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world
that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son,
so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on)
Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost)
but have eternal (everlasting) life.

How many times can I say “God is good?” I know, but He is so good!! The kids threw a 50th Wedding Anniversary party for us yesterday. It was awesome! There were about 70 friends there who we’ve had over the 50 years. So many memories! So many connections! It was a true joy to be surrounded by them all in one room to celebrate with us.!
God had been working on my heart to give a salvation message at the party. It was a scary concept, but as I became more convinced that it was what God wanted, I said OK, and Holy Spirit and I wrote it out.
Now the enemy did not want that to happen; he would tell me ‘You really should not do it. What will your friends think?’ Then on the day before the party, we found out that the place had no sound equipm“Lord, if You want me to speak the message, then I need a microphone.“ He put the idea of a Disc Jockey into my mind. As Bill and I headed out to the ent, no sound boards, nothing to play music. . . no microphone to speak into. I said, gym, my original ‘panic’ mellowed to a trust in God. While at the gym, I asked if anyone knew a DJ? Well it turns out one of the workers I had never met before, was a wedding planner. So I asked her for a name of a good, reasonably priced, DJ. She immediately came up with a name. I called him and left a message.
A little while later he returned the call and we got set up for the party. I know God set it up. He wanted us to have Ben. I don’t know all the reasons why, but Ben felt it was a special engagement just for him too. We blessed him with his fee; and perhaps that was part of it; he also really liked the salvation talk I spoke. Young Ben was blessed by the people and the friendships he watched as the day progressed. He loved the music we chose. It became a win~win situation all the way around, and we gave God the glory!
Before we renewed our vows with our Pastor, I spoke to the group. In a nutshell~ I told them that we love them so much and how God loves us all uniquely, and how we wanted to spend our eternity in heaven with them; however one needed to accept Christ’s gift of salvation before that could happen. Revelation tells about the end of time on this earth, and those who disdain God and reject Jesus will end up in the lake of fire.
And with you, my friends, I also ask you to choose life:
I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you
that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses;
therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live.
What a whirlwind it was with so many dear friends from past years blended with the new ones that are so special to us in recent years. It felt like our history passed before our eyes in the people who were there, for each person, each couple, brought wonderful memories with them. It became riding a train through our past, and each stop opened up a vista of good times. It is hard to put into words, but it was a marvelous party. We are so thankful for our 3 daughters who despite there own busy schedules, managed to plan this delightful day!
We are so thankful to our God Who planned it with them and filled the atmosphere with His love and joy. He was there enjoying the party too, because He loved seeing us having such a beautiful time, and He got the glory!
Yes, He is a good God who loves us each uniquely. Come my friends, if you have not yet chosen to accept Jesus as your Savior, take the step today! It will improve your life on earth and guarantee your eternity is heaven! I love you and can't wait to meet you on the other side!

Each morning I open my eyes early so I have time to spend with my Lord before the busy day begins. This morning~
“Thank You for wakening me, and for the good night’s sleep, Holy Spirit. Still trying to climb up through the haze though. If I don’t move I’ll just sit here in a stupor; a cup of coffee will help. Then please Lord, help me hear You, as I bow down before You. . .
He does not make me wait long~
You are the hidden One, the One not quite seen, but always there, Holy Spirit. In that sense, You are like the wind~ one can’t see it, but you know when it is there. I am reminded of a poem learned in first grade:
Who has seen the wind?
Neither you nor I
but when the leaves are moving,
the wind is passing by.
You have indicated You are calling me up to the next level in my life. “It will be difficult, You warn me, but if you keep your eyes on Me, it will be ok.” I trust You, Lord!
It is going to be like a mountain that must be climbed. You Jesus are my strength. Difficult tasks can be made easy with You. I see a rugged mountain, and at the top is a luminescence. It draws me. Eyes on the peak, I walk back and forth at the foot by the base camp. You, O Jesus, are my base, my foundation:
Isaiah 28:16 Living Bible
But the Lord God says,
“See, I am placing a Foundation Stone in Zion—
a firm, tested, precious Cornerstone that is safe to build on.
He who believes need never run away again.
Yes, Jesus, You are my foundation, the cornerstone of my life. In a nearby tent is the equipment that will be needed to reach the top. It will be arduous, but with my Jesus all things are possible. I trust in Him, my foundation, to help get me up this mountain.
Dressing slowly I draw on a set of insulated long undergarments. They keep warmth close to my body [I keep tuned in constantly to my Holy Spirit connection.] Then I pull on layers of clothing to help keep body temperature regulated [each garment a prayer of my friends, and my prayers for His wisdom.] I clip warm gloves and a special hat to my belt~ truth Scriptures of His promises. He will guide my hands and protect my mind from enemy attacks. [Oh yes, there is an enemy who will try and stop me.]
Next comes my overall suit streamlined with special flexibility to move around and up difficult areas~ it’s threads are intertwined with Jesus’ words to add strength to mind and muscles. My jacket, custom-lined with heat retention feathers of the Father’s love, is my sure protection against storms I may encounter. Next come sunglasses with specialty lenses that show me the way to go, opening up a good path and shielding my mind from erroneous vision that indicates deceptive trails. My way will be clearly marked by my indwelling Holy Spirit.
I don the sunglasses, walk out of the tent into bright sunshine. Raising my eyes I smile at the beauty of the pristine whiteness reflecting off the peaks high above. The only sound~ an echo of the wind; it focuses my mind on the task ahead. The mighty peaks call out in God’s glory!
Psalm 46:10 AMPC
Let be and be still,
and know (recognize and understand) that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations!
I will be exalted in the earth!
For a short time I just stand, listening to the stillness with my eyes beholding His glory. I praise Him as my sight shifts to the trail head. I am ready; my protection is more than adequate. I inhale deeply and take the first step on my journey to the next level. Feeling His protection. . .

Peace and joy. Wonderful time together with family Sunday at our Easter celebration! I love being together with our family.
With the rush of holiday prep now past, my mind returns to the events of Jesus' life~ thinking of Jesus and His family and friends. How sad and hurting they must have been after watching Jesus be tortured and then hung on a cross to die! How they must have been suffering with Him. When I know a loved one is hurting, my heart feels the suffering too.
Can you imagine His Mom and dear friends watching as the blood poured down His face from the crown of thorns, His beaten back like flailed meat, His weakness as He tried carrying the wood up Golgotha. My stomach tightens just thinking about having to watch such agony on my dear Savior’s face. Then His outcry as they hammer nails in the tender spots of His palms and feet and raise the cross perpendicular. After all prophesies were fulfilled, with His final words, "It is finished", His head falls and He dies. Perhaps His family feels relief that His suffering has ended. They wrap the body with spices according to the Jewish custom and lay it in the tomb.
Friends and family gathered together to try and support each other. Early on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene left and went to the tomb. Imagine her shock when she observed the humongous stone was rolled back and Jesus' body was gone! She ran back to tell the others, who then speedily hurried to the tomb. Sure enough, the grave clothes were there but Jesus was gone.
[(John 20:7) Bible Comment :Jesus either caused the tight linen wrappings to fall from His body miraculously or His resurrected body miraculously passed through the linen wrappings, leaving them just as they were where He was lying (except for the face-cloth), unlike Lazarus who emerged from the tomb and had to be released from the wrappings. In either case, the grave wrappings would collapse on themselves on the flat surface of the slab where His body had been placed. The text also indicates that Jesus may have removed the face-cloth Himself once His hands were free, and neatly placed it apart from the other wrappings.]
Jesus had arisen from the dead! He was alive! What joy filled their hearts! Jesus appeared to them a number of times continuing to teach them until He ascended into heaven to rejoin His Father.
That, dear friends, is where we too can choose to be after our earthly days come to an end.
My friends, I pray: May Easter come alive in your life!

After all these years of living, more and more concepts are being planted deeper in my spirit. Withdrawing into quiet time and introspection with the Lord, my mind puzzles out some of the enigmatic truths in God’s Word. Today I am sinking into God’s mercy and grace and how my life is touched by it.
Because of Adam’s treason, we are all born with a sin nature, but by God’s grace we can change becoming people with God’s DNA instead of the devil’s. The punishment due for our sin life was taken on for us by Jesus. You see “By God’s grace Jesus Christ satisfied His justice by taking our punishment on the cross.” It was a tremendous gift of love! Jesus paid the price of our sin debt, and we were mercifully freed from our previous bondage to sin. Allow the depth of this truth to submerge and fill your spirit.
2 Peter 1:3-4 (AMP)
For His divine power has bestowed on us
[absolutely] everything necessary for [a dynamic spiritual] life and godliness,
through true and personal knowledge of Him
who called us by His own glory and excellence.
4 For by these He has bestowed on us His precious and magnificent promises
[of inexpressible value], so that by them you may escape
from the immoral freedom that is in the world
because of disreputable desire,
and become sharers of the divine nature.
I use to think I was pretty “good”, but then discovered in truly examining my own heart in depth, there lurked resentment and angry thoughts toward some in authority, rebellious and uncharitable thoughts toward others, desire to do a thing by my way not God’s way, secret sins, justification of sin in myself or others. (Bit off track, but I've noticed hidden thoughts and unkind words often will pop out when driving.)
We all have the ugliness of sin hiding in our hearts that clearly expresses our own depravity~ apart from Christ. Yes, it’s right here, under the heaviness of our sin, that God’s mercy greets us and infiltrates our daily lives.
Feeling the depth of our own offenses, we cry out to God in repentance, and in His mercy, He joyfully forgives us. This attribute of God is one we should be personally emulating~ treating others with compassion, lovingkindness, and forgiveness; thus we are able to show mercy as our Father gives to us, His children.
Because of God’s grace, our very nature can be transformed. We just need to say “Yes, thank you” to Jesus for taking our punishment and ask Him to be Lord of our life~ then we are reshaped and able to grow as God’s kids, constructing our own personal highway to Him. (See the book Cast Up A Highway). This brings about a profound change in the positive attributes of our lives.
2 Peter 1:10 (AMP)
Therefore, believers, be all the more diligent
to make certain about His calling and choosing you
[be sure that your behavior reflects and confirms your relationship with God];
for by doing these things [actively developing these virtues],
you will never stumble [in your spiritual growth and
will live a life that leads others away from sin];

Such a special week! We celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. We lift Him up and honor Him. Angels sang at His birth and a great star shone upon Him drawing wise men from the east, who could read signs in the heavens and knew an amazing event had occurred. Two thousand years later we still honor His birth, because of Who He is and what He did.
Jesus, the Son of God, second person of the Trinity, God, yes, Jesus Himself left His place in heaven to come to earth as one of us. Why? Because God loves us so much and He desires all of us to live for eternity in heaven with Him. We are all sinners; none is perfect. God is perfect holiness, goodness, justice, and love, and it is as impossible for sin to be near Him as it would be for paper to be next to flames of fire; paper would burn up quickly as would a sinner near Perfect Holiness
So Jesus came to be one of us, to teach us and to redeem us. He taught us about His Father, His character, His love for us. Then Jesus did the unthinkable~ sacrificed Himself for us taking on the sins of the world and the punishment due to each of us, paying our debt for us by His own shed blood. He suffered incredible pain of every kind in order to wash us clean of sin’s stains. All that is left to do is for us to admit we are sinners, repent for our sin, accept Jesus gift to us, and ask Him to come live in us and be Lord of our lives.
My own experience was like being reborn; felt like I’d gone through a paradigm shift where everything was seen in a new light of understanding. I hungered to know more and began consuming the Word of God, absorbing pastor’s illuminating messages, meeting with my Lord each and every morning to learn and be taught by Him. I came to know Him on a deep personal level, and today I glory in His wonder and question why this mighty magnificent God would choose to reveal Himself to me, to live within me as my Teacher, Comforter, my Guide through life. How can He love me so well? I am only a poor scribe, but I believe the secret is I do live in obedience to Him. And that is the key.
My friends, this Christmas, invite Jesus to come be Lord of your life! It creates exuberance, purpose and joy here and guarantees an eternity beyond your greatest dreams!

Luke 1:76-78 (AMP)
[to John]“And you, child, will be called a prophet of the Most High;
For you will go on before the Lord (the Messiah) to prepare His ways;
77 To give His people the knowledge of salvation
By the forgiveness of their sins,
78 Because of the tender mercy of our God,
With which the Sunrise (the Messiah) from on high
will dawn and visit us,
During this season celebrating Jesus entry into the human race, He brings to my mind stories of special gifts He has brought into my life. . .
You have reminded me, Jesus, of when my father died. I was concerned about his salvation and had been praying and speaking to him. On his death bed, it seemed he would breathe his last breath then come back. This continued for a while until finally he left to go to heaven. How do I know positively he is in heaven with Jesus?
I asked God why it took him so long to finally die. Jesus asked me, “when was the last time your Dad bowed down to anyone?” I got it; my Dad was a proud man and God gave him time before death to bow down to Him.
Then Jesus gave me a picture~ it was of my father dressed in a white robe kneeling on one knee before King Jesus, (also in a white robe) like a knight bowing before the kings of old. My Dad bowed his heart down to the King of kings and is now knighted to the wonders of a beautiful eternity.
An aside: the night before, my daughter was in a place in another wing where she could see through his window, and she saw an angel in the room with Dad. I believe it was a special angel there to protect him, so he would not die until he had bowed down to Jesus. Thank You Jesus! You do indeed answer prayers!
Jesus, Your gift of salvation through your willingness to go through torturous death to redeem me, us, is the greatest gift that could ever exist! I accept Your sacrificial gift with deep thanksgiving! I will one day join You and my parents in eternity! Thank You Jesus!
Have you accepted Jesus gift of salvation to you?

Jesus went to prayer daily spending time with His Father. They were so close that the worst part of Jesus’ crucifixion was when the Father had to separate Himself from His Son, because the sin of the world had come upon Jesus. What an agony of shock for Jesus who shouted out, “My God! My God! Why have You forsaken Me?”
Matthew 27:45-47 (AMP)
Now from the sixth hour (noon) there was darkness over all the land
until the ninth hour (3:00 p.m.).
46 About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud [agonized] voice,
“Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is,
“My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
Meditating on this, I see my relationship with my God. Do I have that intimacy? There are times when I do not “feel” God’s closeness. Yet I have His assurance that He is with me:
“I will never [under any circumstances] desert you
[nor give you up nor leave you without support,
nor will I in any degree leave you helpless],
nor will I forsake or let you down
or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!”
He will never abandon me! Since it is written in His Word I know that it is true! So if I’m tempted to believe He left me, or again I don't ‘feel’ Him, I remember I do not live by my feelings, but by the Word of God! So I go to Him and He is indeed there; I can always count on Him!
I submit myself (never easy to submit) to my God and His ways, and He guides me. My rebellious human nature is not totally conquered yet, but He is helping me with it. You know, I love it that He is not the monarch sitting on His throne with a fly swatter just waiting for me to make a mistake so He can swat me down! Rather He is a full loving Father watching over me with kindness and affection, helping me get up when I fall down, and easily forgiving me when I repent of my sinful ways. His gentle kindness brings a loving smile to my face. I do love Him!
My friends, I ask you to spend some time each day in the Lord’s presence talking to Him or reading His Word with Holy Spirit understanding. Meditate on the stillness~ like the stillness of the holy night of Jesus’ birth, the late night quiet in that stable as His mother waited for the fruit of her labor pains, her precious baby's first cry.
I can imagine tears of joy flowing from her eyes as she holds her precious Son close.
The stillness may not last, for the glad voices of angel’s singing a message to the world breaks the silence, for heaven itself rejoices as the Christ begins His part in the salvation of the world.
Dear Ones, come join in the celebration of Jesus or of your own born again experience! Praise Almighty God who always brings us the victory! May joy fill your day!

Did you see it? Of all the arrogance and the blunt attack against God, a newspaper has excelled, and aren’t they proud of themselves? They remind me of a 3 year old that has just gotten away with hitting his baby brother thinking he won’t get punished.
This is someone's account:This morning, I saw on TV the front page of the New York Daily News. There were some politicians that called for prayer to pray for the families of the victims. The Daily News put the faces of the politicians that called for prayer on the front page. The headline said, “God Isn’t Fixing This.”
Excuse me. What I saw was, God has already fixed it and the authority has been given to the Church. And if the Church doesn’t take its authority, there’s a problem. But that was their response to men that called for prayer. God isn’t fixing this. Well, their subtitle was “Gun Control.” We won’t get political but…
I say “God Control.” My head line is “Jesus is Lord.”Jesus is Lord.
This is the direction satan is trying to take us (in purple print). In blue print is what the Body of Christ response must be. Indeed JESUS IS LORD! We are indeed in the end times and satan’s time is short; so he is fighting viciously! However, do not fear, we already know the end of the story: Those who follow Christ have the victory!
Isaiah 41:10 (AMP)
‘Do not fear [anything], for I am with you;
Do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you;
I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand
[a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’
Do you know Jesus? If you do not, it is your time to find Him. If you are not sure of where you will end up at death’s door, you can know positively that the door will open for your entrance into the beauty and peace of heaven. The answer is in God’s Word.: Jesus died a horrific death, suffered the greatest pain for you and me to cleanse the sins of our life. He paid the price for us, so we are no longer in servitude to the devil; we have been freed~
IF we choose to accept that we’re sinners and repent for our sin,
IF we are sorry and change our ways of sin, and
IF we ask Jesus to come and be Lord of our life~
Then, oh what a glorious feeling to have the wonderful Lord God live within us! He leads and guides our life to fulfill our destiny, and then we will be welcomed by Jesus into heaven when death’s door opens for us.
John 10:7, 9-10 AMP
So Jesus said again, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you,
I am the Door for the sheep [leading to life].
I am the Door; anyone who enters through Me will be saved
[and will live forever], and will go in and out [freely],
and find pasture (spiritual security).
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy.
I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance
[to the full, till it overflows].
My friends, Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus, our Redeemer, on this earth. He is God’s gift to us, but no gift does anyone any good, unless we accept it. Today, I’m asking you to accept this magnificent gift of Jesus’ sacrifice for us; invite Him to be your King of kings, to live in your heart, to teach you how to love as He loves us. Giving our life back to God by living it for Him is our gift to Him. It brings promise and joy with it.
God taught me how to travel the cancer journey with complete joy in my heart. He can take you through difficult times while maintaining joy in your heart too. I ask you to enjoy your personal freedom from satan’s rule and sing joyfully in celebration this Christmas! A new birth for you!
The book Cast Up A Highway can help you learn more about a relationship with Jesus and about having joy even during a cancer journey.

In this season celebrating the birth of Jesus, God’s own Son, born upon the earth as a human baby, I am drawn to childhood memories of our family’s Christmas celebrations. They were a time of excitement and love and happiness. Love seemed a spirit that floated through the air permeating every taste, smell, word, and touch. On Christmas Eve songs colored the atmosphere with a sweet love as my family would sit around the tree all sparkling with lights drinking egg nog. There was a little bell and each person would go and get their gifts, ring the bell warning the rest to hide their eyes, then distribute the gifts beneath the tree. When done we’d open our eyes and “ooo and ahhh!” at the colorfully wrapped packages. With six of us, the packages would mount and excitement would gleam from our eyes. Then we would sit and talk about the greatest gift of all, the gift of our Savior whose birthday we were celebrating.
Jesus came in a humble condition, yet a great light shone upon Him and led eastern royalty to Him, and joy from heaven spilled over unto earth in angel song to humble shepherds in the fields. Jesus came that all men might know the truth and be saved. He was formed in His mother’s womb begun there by Holy Spirit, nestled there for 9 months, then as a babe was He born. What joy His earthly parents must have felt! What blessing to all mankind, for this is the babe Who would save the world. This tiny helpless child would one day speak the messages of truth and hope that would reach down to our day and beyond.
I keep picturing this sweet baby warmed by animal breaths whose first cradle was a manger.
When Jesus was a toddler, King Herod sought to kill him, and in the processed murdered every male child age two and under. Did that fact offend your senses? Are we offended by the mass murder of innocents here today as well? My heart cries seeing where sweet babies are killed in the womb before they even get to breathe their first breath. There are millions of children murdered, and my heart aches for the mothers, some young, some older who have chosen the route of abortion. They end the life God began in them. Even more tragic is the recent discovery that these poor innocent baby's bodies are cut up in sections to sell piecemeal for profit. Thousands are murdered daily, and we condemn these atrocities. This Christmas pray for the mothers to choose not to make this choice to end their baby’s life; and pray for our nation that participates in this mass murder, for it is not unknown to God.
As our world sinks in moral decay, we can see the enemy strategizing his next attack. This Christmas I join the call for the Body of Christ to rise up and condemn the abortion factories. pray for our nation to return to righteousness!
And also let us reach out to friends, family and even strangers who do not know the Savior and share His message of redemption! Let us spread life not death!

Walking through the woods at night, the darkness is cut by the beam of a flashlight~ Jesus light is like that. There is a moon seen through the branches above, but it’s light is scattered and ineffective in following the path. We come to a clearing of sorts.
An almost full moon gives light to a field dotted with rock formations. We climb up one rock and find shapes comfortable for sitting. Jesus sits on the top; my seat is somewhat lower and has a form allowing me to rest back and look up. An atmosphere of silence reigns broken only by a cricket symphony. Some stars are twinkling; one moves across the sky~ a satellite perhaps? An airplane flying very high? But beyond is what fascinates me. Away from any man made lights, the heavens hold a beauty and mystery of their own. Hubble Telescope revealed the universe goes on and on containing beauty and forms foreign to and surpassing any on the earth.
Sitting on the rock does not reveal the far reaches, but the myriad of stars create a canopy of awe and splendor. A canopy suggests a covering, but actually these heavenly bodies have no end, no ceiling, they seemed to go on and on forever. The allure is not just their grandeur, but the seeming infinity of their reach. And I know only God is mighty enough to have created this wonder. Usually Jesus teaches me with words when we go on excursions, but tonight He allows the magnificence to speak for itself.
Jesus knows experiencing something is far more effective than just using words. In the Bible book of Ephesians Paul prays for the people about knowing the great love of God:
Ephesians 3:16-21 (AMP)
16 May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory
to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man
by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality].
17 May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide,
make His permanent home) in your hearts!
May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love,
18 That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp
with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love]
what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it];
19 [That you may really come] to know
[practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ,
which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience];
that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God
[may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and
become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!
The darkness renders a feeling of being totally alone in the universe where the glory of the heavens is experienced without distraction. It feels like the jeweled magnificence of the skies reaches down within my soul and fills me with awesome wonder. Speaking of the universe or even seeing the fantastic Hubble pictures cannot duplicate this experience. I have encountered my marvelous God in His Creative glory flooding me with Himself.
Jesus looks at me with that gentle loving smile as though to say, “See, now do you get it?” Indeed I do. God is magnificent in His glory far beyond my reach, yet is He also my loving Father touching me with His Presence, filling me with His love.
I am complete in the moment.
Have you experienced the love of God? When was the last time You felt filled with His love?

“Come walk with me, Mary, along the shores of the great sea," bid Jesus.
I readily accept His invitation. The wet sand is hard, yet our feet make slight indentations in it. . . until the waves come ashore and scrape them from the sand . . . and they're gone.
"Look behind you Mary; what do you see?"
"Clear beach," I respond, "no sign of our passing together."
Jesus shares, "When looking behind you, much has been scraped away, but keep your eyes focused on Me in your present, and what truths of the past you need will always be there."
"As we walk side by side, Mary, what do your ears hear?"
I smile, "Gentle waves climbing on the sand and drawing back, also mixing with their constant motion my ears enjoy the love, kindness, understanding, caring~ all in your voice. Here on this beach with You, my Lord, is peace and rightness."
Jesus smiles too, "Warm sun, cool breezes are blessings from My Father for you Mary. But will it be always like this? See the clouds on the horizon. What do you read from them?"
"Lord, they clue me in that a storm is brewing". Soon the gentle waves grow more aggressive; breeze transforms into fierce winds causing the palms to bow before their Creator. Ahh, Lord, should we look for shelter?
Jesus looks me in the eye, "Mary, what greater shelter do you require than to walk at my side?"
Yes, what indeed? This storm causes me to put all my weight forward in order to make progress against the wind; waves climb up my legs and rain pellets sting my arms and face. But as the tempest grows more powerful, Jesus holds my arm and steadies me. His eyes are confident and kind. My physical muscles may be less than they once were, but Jesus is my sturdy support. He has always been faithful and I trust Him in this storm to walk all the way through it with me.
I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Are you walking through a storm today? Are you trusting Jesus to support you all the way through? He is faithful, you know.
Matthew 28:20 (NKJV)
teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;
and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

“Free!” The magic word, aye? I’d been wanting a new refrigerator, and on garage sale day there stood this pretty refrigerator with a “FREE” sign on it. Greed kicked in. I must have it! Quick before anyone else gets it! We scrambled to bring it across the drive to our patio. We got a new refrigerator! Yea! Thanks God!
In the back hidden down in my spirit was this niggling critter laughing at me. Uncomfortableness. Did I ask God about it? Or did I let a spirit of greed take over? I ask myself these questions now after we had a difficult time getting the new refrigerator in through our doors and the old one out.
Then the handles are on the opposite sides of the doors. (Haven’t had time to switch them) So every time I go to get in the frig, I find myself grabbing for a handle that’s not there. Oh yeah, the other side. It’s habit displaying itself in plain view, and it reminds me of my reaction to the “free” sign.
What other habits keep me coming up empty? What happens when I disobey God? I see something I want. . . did I go to God and ask if it’s good for me? No I acted according to the world. What if I am under attack of the enemy? Do I take it to God or try and figure it out on my own? I’ve still got a ways to go. It is difficult to break worldly habits, some more than others.
What does God say about habits? Some are good like~ the women who followed Jesus were in the habit of ministering to Him:
Mark 15:40-42Amplified Bible (AMP)
40 Now some women were there also, looking on from a distance,
among whom were Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome,
41 Who, when [Jesus] was in Galilee, were in the habit of
accompanying and ministering to Him;
Do I follow Jesus and focus on ministering to Him often praising Him
for His mighty love in saving me? Thank You Jesus!
This beautiful picture by Del Parson depicts Jesus habit of taking everything to Father God. Is that my habit?
Luke 22:39 (AMP)
39 And He came out and went, as was His habit, to the Mount of Olives,
and the disciples also followed Him.
Jesus paid the ransom for our freedom from satan’s clutches:
All of you, slave and free both, were once held hostage in a sinful society. Then a huge sum was paid out for your ransom.
So please don’t, out of old habit, slip back into being or doing what everyone else tells you. Friends,
stay where you were called to be. God is there.
Hold the high ground with him at your side.
Jesus is always with me, so with His help I can form new habits and do anything He calls me to do.The root of sinful self interest is in us all:
My counsel is this: Live freely, animated and motivated by God’s Spirit.
Then you won’t feed the compulsions of selfishness.
For there is a root of sinful self-interest in us that is at odds with a free spirit,
just as the free spirit is incompatible with selfishness.
These two ways of life are antithetical, so that you cannot live at times one way and at times another way according to how you feel on any given day.
Why don’t you choose to be led by the Spirit and
so escape the erratic compulsions of a law-dominated existence?
I thought I was pretty well along this right path in eliminating the root of self interest, until this attack of demon greed showed up. Thinking back I see myself leaving the appliance there and doing preliminary work to bring it to our patio~ find a two wheeler etc. And if it were still there, get it.
The reality was this round eyed little Gollum creature putting my arms around the appliance. . . “my precious”. LOL!
How ridiculous! If God wanted me to have it, He would have saved it for me and made all things easy. I did not have to fear someone else would get it.
I’m sorry Lord, I did not come to You first. instead of just thanking you for blessing me with a new refrigerator, I let the ways of the world control the situation; I missed a real blessing there. I repent.
When was the last time you acted out of habit in the world’s ways? Did you recognize it?

Saturday morning before Easter; the sky is grey. The tomb is dark. What is behind the rock door? You Jesus went to hell to claim Your victory~ the keys of the Kingdom, keys of life and death.
“Don’t fear: I am First, I am Last, I’m Alive. I died, but I came to life,
and my life is now forever. See these keys in my hand?
They open and lock Death’s doors, they open and lock Hell’s gates.
Jesus, it must have been during this time that You went to hell to claim your prize. Of course this is pure speculation, but on this day You were preparing to make Your emergence into the world as our Risen King! But Your friends and loved ones only knew You were gone from them, that behind the rock was a lifeless body where once the tender loving teacher use to live. The darkness of loss and abandonment was in their hearts. Mourning together in their grief they gathered to try and comfort each other.
Saturday for them was sadness.
Today we know this is a victory day, that Easter morning Jesus came out of the tomb fully alive in a resurrected body with holes still in the hands and feet where nails once were driven. We see the future, so to speak, knowing the past happenings. Jesus took our beating, our punishment for the sins in our life, so that we could live victorious lives on earth and walk into heaven when our days were done.
Jesus, You conquered death for us. Our spirits now live free from satan’s hatred; oh he still tries to tempt us from God’s way, but the closer we build our relationship with our God of love and goodness, the more difficult it is for evil to draw us away.
Everyone who accepts Jesus’ gift of salvation and invites Him to be Lord of their life will free themselves too. You can be free to live the life God designed for you, to be the person God created you to be.
Have you abandoned yourself to God yet? Have you chosen to be all you can be?

At the ability to speak, but one day my father observed her leaving the house, and he decided to follow to see where she was going. Across from their house was a grassy area bordered on the far side by a high wooden fence. My Mom walked across the grass to the fence. There she stopped and put up her hand as though touching something on the wood. Her head bowed, then soon she took several steps to the side, stopped, reached up her hand, bowed her head, and soon she took several more steps to the side. My Dad realized that my Mom was doing the “stations of the cross”. This is a Catholic tradition where plaques picturing the passion of the Christ are placed on a wall. People would walk along the wall touching each scene meditating on it, going through Jesus' suffering ‘with Him’.
What joy this brought to me! My Mother was a wonderful woman who loved her Lord. This showed me that even though the disease had confused her thinking abilities, Jesus was still with her giving her comfort in this so difficult time! It also showed me the power of what Jesus suffering for us still does in our beings. I do not know if Mom even knew who I was, but even in the turmoil of her mind, she knew Jesus. The richness of that blessing fills me to this day.
In two days we will remember Jesus’ terrible ordeal on ‘Good Friday’~ The day we set aside in deep thankfulness for what Jesus did for us. It’s the special day when we honor our God for His amazing love, for He sent His Son to redeem us for eternity:
Isaiah 53:5-6 MSG
The servant grew up before God—a scrawny seedling, a scrubby plant in a parched field. There was nothing attractive about him, nothing to cause us to take a second look. He was looked down on and passed over, a man who suffered, who knew pain firsthand. One look at him and people turned away. We looked down on him, thought he was scum. But the fact is, it was our pains he carried— our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us. We thought he brought it on himself, that God was punishing him for his own failures. But it was our sins that did that to him, that ripped and tore and crushed him—our sins! He took the punishment, and that made us whole. Through his bruises we get healed. We’re all like sheep who’ve wandered off and gotten lost. We’ve all done our own thing, gone our own way. And God has piled all our sins, everything we’ve done wrong, on him, on him.
The ‘Passion of the Christ’, the movie, did an extraordinary work in portraying what Jesus suffered; it depicted some of His pain, but Jesus suffered even more adding emotional pain. When the sins of the world came on Jesus, it severed the abiding connection with Father God. This was a crushing blow on top of the pains of His physical torture. He felt totally forsaken. Imagine being beaten till skin was in shreds, thorns pressed into your head, forced to carry your cross of wood on bloodied shoulders, having large nails pounded through your wrists and one through both feet. Then the cross is lifted and set in the ground and your body hangs down suffocating you.
Why would Jesus do this? He loves us so much He did not want anyone to suffer everlasting pain in hell, and so He took on the punishment for our sins. Now all we must do is accept His gift and let Him be Lord of our life. This opens the door to a new life for us in this world, and to eternity in heaven’s light of love and joy. Oh, accept the gift my friends!!
SEARCHING FOR A CLOSER WALK WITH GOD
SEARCHING FOR A CLOSER WALK WITH GOD
Sometimes the terrible awesomeness of God hits me and sends me reeling into deep meditation. It always carries its reward of a new closeness with my God. It happened this morning. In the beginning I was distracted with my mind wandering here and yon. Then I ‘woke up’ and commanded it to return. God is so good! Holy Spirit began to lead me in prayer.
Sorry, my Lord. I come to our meeting this morning with scattered thoughts; help me, Lord, to rein them in. That You even desire to meet with me is so amazing! Deep breath. Moses asked God, “what shall I say when they ask 'Who sent me’?” You responded, “Say the Great I AM sent me.” You, God, are not hemmed in by time. For You there is no ‘was, will be’, there is only I AM. Before You I bow down my heart, my 'who I am' I submit to You; help me become who You created me to be.
Exodus 3:13-14 (AMP)
13 And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them? 14 And God said to Moses, I Am Who I Am and What I Am, and I Will Be What I Will Be; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I Am has sent me to you!
- Footnotes: Exodus 3:15 To know the name of God is to witness the manifestation of those attributes and apprehend that character which the name denotes.
Can you feel the depth of that name? 'I AM' signifies so much ~ timelessness, absolute love, supreme power, unimaginable expansion ~ an incomprehensible being, totally surrounding. There simply are not words to express the grandness of Who our God is. HIS LOVE FOR US S SO APPARENT IN HIS WORD!
Psalm 91:14 (AMP)
Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].
Isaiah 52:6 (AMP)
Therefore My people shall know what My name is and what it means; therefore they shall know in that day that I am He who speaks; behold, I Am!
Indeed my God! You are the great I AM! This measures so deep and so high and so wide. You revealed Your staggering magnificence to David, and it comes out here:
O Lord, you have examined my heart
and know everything about me.
2 You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
Even when it’s my mind traveling on tangents.
3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home.
You know everything I do.
4 You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
5 You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand!
7 I can never escape from your Spirit!
I can never get away from your presence!
8 If I go up to heaven, you are there;
if I go down to the grave, you are there.
9 If I ride the wings of the morning,
if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
and your strength will support me.
You are always with me.
You will guide me.
You will always be my support. Your strength
upholds me, protects me, supports me.
Lord, You are so good! What a privilege to know You! Thank You that You continue to grow me closer to You. Thank You! I love being together with You, my Lord.
