Cast Up A Highway

Hello my friends! I've had technical problems with my blog, but hopefully they are now cleared up and we can get back on our track of 2/week.
During this time I have also had hip surgery, so my life has been in the healing mode~ hopefully my body and program are recovering quickly!
One of the lessons that opened my eyes during this season of frustration~ don't allow multiple attacks of the enemy to weaken my will or to put blockages in the way of progress. My solution has been to find encouragement in His Word and turn the whole situation over to God and trust Him to create the best outcome.
Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Guess what? It works. Frustration seeped away. My focus stayed on track. Cast Up A Highway continues to build faith and joy. Healing progresses.
Hope the God's Words of hope and love will help bring a soothing balm of warmth and restoration to your souls too.

Tears flowed down her face. Despite her prayers, the infant has died. Did her prayers mean nothing? "God, don’t You hear me? Are Your promises true or not?"
Pain has a way of chaining our heart to doubt. How do I come out of that? How do I become strong enough to defeat the enemy’s deceitful ways of chaining me down to hurt? In the book Cast Up A Highway it says, “Because of the desperate need for consolation, the enemy is right there trying to spill gasoline on the fire of our pain to keep our focus there.” Where our focus is~there our mind will be.
How do I break the enemy chains and escape the pain? There is no escape; there is only walk through. One power tool that's a potent support is our faith, and it must be strong like any good tool; as pilings must be established on a staunch foundation, so must be our faith. Our foundation is a mighty God powerful and magnificent.
Ah, but does He care? Sometimes it does not feel like it. So where does that leave us? The Word says we cannot live by our feelings, but by the Word of God; therefore, it is critical to speak out the Word against the enemy who uses our feeling to cast doubt and magnify the pain:
Psalm 91:1-3 (AMP)
HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust! For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. You, Lord, are my deliverer.
Isaiah 41:10 (AMP)
Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice. You Lord are my sturdy support through all my trials!
God’s Word builds an inner sturdiness in our faith that will support us through pain and every storm. Our God loves us as His precious children and always desires to help us. Yet every parent knows you cannot give children everything they want. You cannot remove all pain from their lives. So, too, our Almighty God is aware of everything past, present, and future. He knows better than we do, what will bring goodness into our lives and what will not. Thus, in His love He sometimes says “No” or “Not yet”.
Our part in growing our faith is to grow our trust~ trust God’s love for us and stand on the Word. If we are going through the desperate pain of the loss of a loved one, choose to receive God’s consolation, for He will bring a healing balm to hearts. We must trust Him even when we do not understand. Cry on His shoulder and allow Him to hold and comfort us. He will do it; trust Him in that. He always does the best for us, even when we might not agree with Him.
God is faithful and as we build intimacy with Him, our faith will strengthen. We will still suffer pain, but God will lead us gently up out of it. He loves us dearly! His plans for us are good.
and then I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “See! The tabernacle of God is among men, and He will live among them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them [as their God,] 4 and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be death; there will no longer be sorrow and anguish, or crying, or pain; for the former order of things has passed away.”
This is our promise of His love and our marvelous future.

In this day many are struggling. Times are getting better, but it won't happen over night. And so we do have these feelings~
Overwhelmed. Depressed. Dread. Fear. Sometimes we experience difficult situations like job loss, financial distress, sickness, or a sick child, which can lead to relationship difficulties in marriages. So how do we avoid the negative feelings when faced with difficult situations?
During these times, our faith needs to be strong. How do we put muscle in our faith? It’s not easy. You’ve heard: no pain, no gain? It applies to our faith too. The book Cast Up A Highway references Paul’s handicap and what it teaches us:
2 Corinthians 12:7-10
Because of the extravagance of those revelations, and so I wouldn't get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan's angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty!
At first I didn't think of it as a gift, and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that, and then He told me, “My grace is enough; it's all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness.” Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ's strength moving in on my weakness. Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.
In this verse, Paul is speaking to the church at Corinth. . . . he is sharing with the people his revelation about how suffering and testings can be a gift.
You are amazing Lord! You love us enough to give us the opportunity to get stronger by trials and sufferings, and you explain what You are doing and why. Christ’s strength moves in to fill the void left by my weakness. Thus, coupled with Christ’s strength I become supernaturally strong.
This verse blesses us with answers to two of our “Why” questions:
1. Why do I have to suffer pain, heartache, and grief? You can see in this verse Paul shares that these trials can bring us closer to God. God does not create the cause of the pain and suffering, but when we allow, He will use them to increase our inner bonding with Him. Any price is well spent if we draw closer to our Savior. Pain and heartache all can have good purpose and rewards, if we seek God as we go through them. He will open a way for a deeper, closer, and more profound experience in our relationship with Him and in our situation. It will install a sturdy core of deep strength in our spirit and soul. And in the end will be joy.
2.Why doesn’t God always answer my prayers? He does, but we do not always want to accept the answer He provides, even though it is the best answer for us in the long run. If we trust in God for His answers, good will come to us, All things happen for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. (from Romans 8:288)
As a teen our daughter was complaining about how hard something was; her Daddy said, “no one said it was gonna be easy”. She responded with feeling, “Well no one said it was gonna be this hard either!” Our spiritual life can draw those comments too. Some believe that once I become a Christian, life will be floating on a cloud. Sorry friend, it just ain’t so.
We are designed to go from strength to strength. How could we get stronger without challenges? How could our relationship with our God become deeper in intimacy, if we never had to rely on Him for anything? or never had to question “why?”. Yes, we all go through opposition, and though God is not the originator of it, He will use it for our benefit if we allow.
Is the reward worth the struggle? Oh yeah!!

Last night: Toss and turn. Scratch the itch. Bend the knees. Turn over. That was the physical body. But the mind was the biggest deterrent to sleep; felt like a game of “keep away” with the ball being tossed here and then there, and soon as I thought I caught it, away the thought would fly. You know too, the night is when the devil loves to bring negative thoughts to mind. Last night he was true to form. It got to the point where I threw myself down weeping before God’s throne, feeling beaten, alone and helpless.
For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.
Then I asked my Holy Spirit for help. He is so faithful. He brought me one thought, a Scripture verse: “Why so downcast, O my soul?” So I looked it up this morning:
Psalm 42:5-8 (NIV)
Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.
6 My soul is downcast within me;
therefore I will remember you
from the land of the Jordan,
the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.
7 Deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me.
8 By day the Lord directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.
That psalm grabbed my mind to truth~ why am I downcast? Holy Spirit showed me that I had put God in 3 little boxes. Ha! Don’t we do that? Don’t we sometimes put God in a little box? Some people think that God should live by their ideas and ideals, and if He doesn’t then 'I won’t believe. . . .'
Well I wasn’t that far out of line, but I had boxed up God as too small to handle my problems. No wonder I felt alone and helpless. If I only depend on me, that’s weak! So I went and opened the 1st box~ Holy Spirit. Soon as it was open, “Whoosh” out flew Holy Spirit filling the room and the earth and the universe, and finally me. Yes I felt His love filling me up settling a little satisfied smile on my face. I was back!
Then I moved over to box #2, and as I got the top barely beginning to open, up sprang King Jesus, standing tall as a mountain. He began bending over and picking up little somethings and tossing them to His angels. Then I saw they were small demons, Jesus would pick them up and the angels would cart them away. This was over individuals, families, churches, other groups, and finally over governments. (These government demons were bigger and darker.) What I noticed was that when the little devils were cleared out, Jesus light filled the spaces. One of my “toss and turn thoughts” was there and as Jesus emptied the demons, His light filled that home. Peace.
The third box just disappeared; it was simply no longer there; but Father God was everywhere working all over the world. He was activating His plan in each individual and each country. My God is so huge, so mighty, and I have Him indwelling me. I am not small and alone! I have Him with me all the time! His indwelling Presence, power and protection is always with me. Nothing is impossible for God, and that is true with me too, for my God lives in me.
May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality].
Friends, if you have put God in a little box, ask Holy Spirit to help you open it up and release the mighty power that is yours, because God is for you, not against you. His love is a strength that stands with and empowers you always. Do not fear, He has given you a spirit of power, might and love. Feel His love for you, and thank Him for His awesome blessings! And get Him out of that box!!

The grandness of our God is evident to all with eyes to see. The universe as revealed by Hubble Telescope is huge and beautiful.
Looking at the earth itself, we can gasp at the loveliness of mountain scenes, water cascading over rock cliffs, tiny flowers peeking up through a small cleft in a rock on a trail.
Or we can watch the grace of a cheetah running, a lion roaring, an elephant lumbering in it's magnificent body, a rhino charging. Smile at a whale leaping out of the sea with a baby beside it.
Our earth is so full of wonder and beauty, it boggles the mind to see one who questions the Almighty Creator who put it all in place.
Romans 1:20-25 (AMP)
20 For ever since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through His workmanship [all His creation, the wonderful things that He has made], so that they [who fail to believe and trust in Him] are without excuse and without defense.
21 For even though they knew God [as the Creator], they did not honor Him as God or give thanks [for His wondrous creation]. On the contrary, they became worthless in their thinking [godless, with pointless reasonings, and silly speculations], and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools,
Lord, You alone are the Almighty God! There are no gods before you. You are the excellent One who rules over Your creation. You do not just sit on Your throne and observe; indeed not, for You are a mover! And in creation Your power and Your love can be seen. Anyone who desires to know You, who seeks Your face, will find You. Our loving Father, our magnificent God, our King of kings!
Lord, so many eyes need to be opened to see You and the muscle of Your right arm. Once You have a child to love, no one can take them from Your grasp. You have us, Father. Sometimes we can get muddled in our understanding of You; help us, Jesus. I know You love us. As I close my eyes and speak to You, I know You will answer; You will enable. . .
I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]
Bless you my friends! May Spring bring beautiful flowers in your life to put smiles in your heart!

Easter approaches on swift wings of time; and as we celebrate this beautiful season, prayers of love and thanksgiving are offered to Jesus, the Son of God, who gave up His divine heritage to become fully human. Why would He do this? He knew His end before He began living this choice, and it meant separation from His Father and a painful death. So why?
There is but one reason: God’s love for us required the sacrifice to atone for original man’s treason against God Almighty. Without divine atonement, man could never go to heaven to be with God for all eternity. The sin would exempt him from ever being close to God. That was the enemy’s evil scheme to ruin God’s creation plans for mankind.
But Love in His heart compelled Jesus to choose to save us. Soon we will celebrate God’s magnificent love and power that redeemed us. We repent for our sins that painfully scarred Jesus flesh and put Him on the cross to die. Then Easter morning we will rejoice at His resurrection! We have been redeemed!
My friends, let us prepare our hearts by meditating on the immense love that God has shone us. Father sent His Son to be beaten and crucified to fulfill the legal obligation of the debt of mankind's sin. He loves us enough to suffer excruciating pain so that we could be with Him for all eternity. Now our choice to accept this wondrous gift opens the door to eternity for us.
Choose to accept Jesus' gift and enjoy an eternity of knowing God from then on, never being separated from Him!

Hello my beautiful Lord, God of all creation! I know You are beautiful because creation came from You, and it is lovely! You are most amazing! I can bow before You in worship and You invite me to sit and rest in Your presence. In the resting, I am filled and fulfilled! You are so good! Thank You!!
I’m picturing the rhinoceros I saw on tv the other night. He was big and lumbering with a huge tusk on His nose. Despite His ‘ugliness' he was quite a regal creature with brute strength and a rather nasty disposition. But what is nastier still are the men who kill him for the greed of his tusk. He is Your critter Lord, and you put good in him. So what happened to the good in men? Men were corrupted by satan at the beginning of beginnings, his blood tainted with evil.
But You, Lord, in Your goodness sent Your Son Jesus to redeem mankind; so now we can choose a whole new transformation which erases the evil stain in our nature. We take on God’s DNA, His nature of goodness and love. When we accept Jesus' sacrifice for us, we can also receive the Holy Spirit to live in us. Remember God is One and so Holy Spirit, being One in the Trinity, is God Himself. Our Triune God is not easy to understand with our finite minds, but He is an incredibly awesome God! And you know what’s really magnificent? Our God loves us so much! He desires with all His heart to have a close relationship with us, a one on one, heart to heart relationship.
Can we have an intimate relationship with God? The answer is “Yes”. When one has God living within, having conversations with us, leading us, comforting us, being our mentor, yes, a very close connectedness can be established. Love can grow. He already loves us, and as we come to know Him more and more, we will love Him too. So a beautiful relationship grows. The wonder of it must be experienced to believe how marvelous it is.
If you would like to build this lovely bond with our astonishing Lord God, You can. He desires this bond more than we do, as He loves us dearly already. Ask God to help you. Then repent of your sins, and thank Jesus for taking your punishment for them; ask Him to be the Lord of Your life, and you will have begun the most important journey of your entire existence
You will no longer be that thick-skinned, nasty tempered, critter with its head born down by a huge tusk of greed. This rhino personality will be transformed into one of God’s more lovely creatures. . . a doe, a lion, a giraffe, an eagle. God loves all His creation, but none more than us. Submit to God, Creator of the universe and all it’s majesty, of the earth and all its magnificence.
See how grand is life spent with One who treasures you as a beloved son or daughter!
The book Cast Up A Highway can be a guide in creating your own personal highway.

Praise You mighty God! You will not stand for the enemy’s continuing to come against and trying to subvert President Trump whom You placed as head of our government. There are many standing in the gap for him and for the USA. Thank You Lord! You are mighty and strong and what You will, shall be! I want to shout out~ I LOVE YOU LORD! COME LORD JESUS!
To what can I compare these days? A spirit of discontent and hate is being stirred up. Reminds me of the movie “the Birds”. What use to be gentle and nonthreatening has been perverted into vicious and terrifying. Division is being fermented; hate is being taught. Thankfully, we have a God who is Love. His love is more powerful than all the hate the enemy can cast out into our world.
Peace. Jesus told us He would give us His peace. Trust is the key. If we trust Jesus, we can have peace knowing He is all powerful God; and He will bring about His will into our world. So if we love God and trust Him, we have no need to fear. We lift Him up, praise Him, and thank Him for His many blessings while putting our world into His hands. All will be well.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
My friends, we can change the atmosphere of our days one person at a time. As people begin to know God’s will and trust it, they will be able also to tap into His mighty love. As we love one another, the hatred will be cast out. Supernatural love cannot be overcome. Dip into the divine love of God, the joy that comes is catching; many others will be inspired by our animation.
Trust and hope go together; so as we trust God, our hope will open our eyes and expectation revealing a new doorway that God would have us walk through. Oh my friends, God has many wondrous experiences for us ahead. Do not be afraid to partake. We can trust an unknown future to a known God!
Do these times frighten you?

What a wonderful God we have! 'He created us to know Him and to love Him and to serve Him on this earth so we can be happy with Him in heaven'. This is right out of the Baltimore catechism from long long ago. I grew up learning it. It is truth simplified.
When God created first man, He knew He must give men free will to choose. He also knew that free will could cause man to sin. Indeed, first man betrayed God, and chose to listen to satan who knew that sin would travel down infecting man with a sin nature and spoiling God's intention of having us in heaven with Him.
So God countered that move by making a plan for His creation: Jesus would come and pay the price for our sin. You see, because it was a human man sinning against a Deity, it was a legal requirement: in order for us to be freed from our sin nature, we would have to be reconciled by a God/man.
God's plan from the beginning was to save us. He knew with our free will and sin nature we would make wrong choices, and no sin can exist near God’s perfect goodness. It is like bringing paper too close to a fire; the paper would be destroyed. God prepared in advance a way for all men to be saved. His plan was Jesus who would clean the slate for us.
Now our place in the plan entails carrying the Gospel message to everyone we know. We are God’s hands and feet and mouth. Thankfully, we have Holy Spirit indwelling us to guide and mentor us. Have You invited Holy Spirit to come and live in your heart? If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, invite the Holy Spirit to come and live in you. He loves us too.
Holy Spirit is God in us. With His indwelling presence, we have our Lord to greet each morning as we climb out of bed. We can dedicate the day to Him right away. Ask for His anointing to speak to someone or some people today about Jesus' love. He will bring people along Your path and give you the words to say. It’s like John 15 teaches~ every soul we reach for Jesus is a fruit, joy to God, to the redeemed and to us.
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.
17 This is my command: Love each other.
God is Three-in-One = Father Son and Holy Spirit, 3 persons in one God. We are made in His image~ not exact replica, but Spirit, soul, and body. There is so much joy in getting to know our God! I invite you, my friends, to take on the journey of building an intimate relationship with our Lord God. The book Cast Up A Highway can help begin or further your journey to construct a highway from your heart to God's heart.

Holy Spirit. You love us, and we are called to love You and our sisters and brothers too. Jesus, please teach us how to do that well.
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
Jesus, You even went so far as to say "love your enemies".
My God, You are love. Teach us about love. Yes You have been teaching me about love as I work in the hospital. There are rooms where the people do not look very inviting, or the room smells bad, the injury is bad; no matter, You say “Go in that room” and I go. Just taking a smile and Your love in with me brings a responsive smile in them. Sometimes it’s a conversation that leads to talking about You. Sometimes just listening unburdens their heart. And I leave feeling a love connection with that person. It is such a blessing to me. Thank You for the privilege of working there.
You have taught me that no matter my first impression of people, they are all Your kids and You love them. We are called to love them too. Father, help us to see the good in people we encounter, and to know how to connect with them. In Your Word, the Bible, I watched Jesus heal the lepers even though their disease causes disfigurations. You healed the poor and the wealthy alike. Nothing stood in the way of Your love. You answered the “good thief” on the cross with a promise of heaven that day, because he recognized who You are and asked forgiveness. No matter what kind of life people have lived, be it crime filled or love filled, if they come to You accepting Your sacrifice for them, You forgive them and grant them an eternity in heaven.
You are not looking to punish the bad deeds that sinners do, but to call them to accept the gift You planned for their salvation. Our job is to help them see that You love them so much, Your great desire is to bring them home for eternity with You! Your heart weeps for those who refuse to accept Your Son’s sacrifice.
Lord I ask for the ability to love people as You love them. Holy Spirit, You are our indwelling mentor; teach us. Bring us courage to do whatever You ask.
My friends, all of us are called to love God and our brothers and sisters as ourselves. True love of self is recognizing who we are~ we are children of God, our Creator Father and He considers us His beloved. We are the treasure of His heart. That’s why He sent Jesus to suffer and die for us to pay our sin debt. It was a legal requirement if we were to be able to spend eternity with our God of perfect goodness.

Jesus walked the earth with purpose. He was obedient to His Father God, and He was in love with us. Therefore, He wanted to teach us how to join in the amazing relationship with God that He created us to have together; we are His children and He loves us.
That’s why when satan seduced Adam into betraying God, God had a plan set up to rescue us from damnation. His plan was Jesus. The plan was to have Jesus come to reintroduce us to Father God and to pay the penalty for man's betrayal. So at the right time in history, Jesus arrived, and His mission began. He gathered 12 special men around Him, lived with them, taught them, and prepared them for their assignment in life.
I do not call you servants any longer, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you [My] friends, because I have revealed to you everything that I have heard from My Father.
16 You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed and placed and purposefully planted you, so that you would go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit will remain and be lasting, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name [as My representative] He may give to you.
These words are not just for the apostles, but they are for us too. God has chosen us. He has purposefully planted us where we can complete the work we were created for. Each of us have been given gifts and talents to be used for a special purpose. When we connect with Jesus, we will discover exactly what that purpose is, and it will be a fulfilling work for us. We will produce much fruit for the Kingdom, Jesus’ Kingdom.
Do you remember the Scripture that says God has brought us to Jesus Kingdom?
Colossians 1:13 (NKJV) He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
I chose to live in the Light now and I do the work for which I was created. I live happy and excited. You can make the new year a time to really connect with Jesus and find the purpose for which you were created too. Just thank Him for paying your debt, and ask Him to be the Lord of Your life.
1 John 1:7
but if we [really] walk in the Light [that is, live each and every day in conformity with the precepts of God], as He Himself is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another [He with us, and we with Him], and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin [by erasing the stain of sin, keeping us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations].
Thank You Lord!

My spirit has been yearning for something; this morning it came clear~ holiness, peace and quiet joy. Where do I find this in the hustle and bustle of this season? It is a beautiful time to celebrate the birth of a Savior! Why all this pressure and busyness? It does not belong!
Decided to go to my quiet place and close my eyes. It’s late evening as I find myself in a crowded busy city of long ago; it's full of travelers looking for their lodging. Sun has left and stars are lighting the darkening sky. I amble down the road and enter the path reaching out into a field. My eyes see dimly a structure softly glowing in the dark pasture. Yes, it is the stable I was searching out. Town noises fade as I come close to the stable. A gentle light seems to emanate forth and peace surrounds. A woman has recently given birth; she sits leaning against a bale of hay smiling down at the babe in her arms. The simple joy of Mom and Dad at the birth of their Son cannot be missed.
Sitting at the edge of the stable my back against the wall, I find my eyes refuse to move from the tiny sleeping child. Memory of a scripture appears and I see this grown up Lord deeply asleep in the back of a boat. His friends were in a panic because a storm is roaring about them; finally as a huge wave crashes down, they wake Jesus. "Master help us! We are surely drowning.” Coming awake Jesus says, "Did I not say we are going to the other side? Why do you doubt my words? O ye of little faith". Then He stands up and commands the wind and the waves, “Peace, be still”, and they obey.
Matthew 8:23-30 (NIV)
23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”
26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”
As I sit there, Mary smiles at me. My storm is raging too, but Jesus’ promises are true! And I hear His voice, “Peace, be still. I am with you.”
My escape into the quiet of the holy night fills me with peace. I’ll come back for another visit.
May His peace cover you, my friends.

John 6:53 (AMP)
53 And Jesus said to them, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood [unless you believe in Me as Savior and believe in the saving power of My blood which will be shed for you], you do not have life in yourselves.
Indeed even today there are those who find Jesus a stumbling block instead of a Rock of salvation. Jesus speaks truth only, and some choose to believe what their flesh desires instead of truth.
John 15:5-7 (NIV)
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.
Jesus came to earth as a baby of humble birth. He grew up in the home of His mother Mary and foster father Joseph, a carpenter. The Word says He grew in wisdom and knowledge. When Jesus was ready to begin His mission in life~ to make His Father known to the peoples of earth, and to shed His blood for the salvation of all mankind, He set out and first chose 12 men to accompany Him. They became major players in Gods plan!
Now the peoples of His day knew a Messiah was coming, but they thought it would be a warrior that would be a conqueror for them. So the humble Jesus arrived, and many Jewish leaders of the time overlooked Him despite His teachings and miracles. Jesus presented a challenge to their authority and their way of life. He was a stumbling block to them, and so many missed out on the gift of eternal life Jesus brought.
Today it is the same. Jesus speaks truth and does not present anything with ‘political correctness’. Many were offended in those days by Jesus’ words in John 6:53 above. The bluntness of His speech lost many of the disciples. Today it happens as well. There is a right and a wrong. There is truth! Many want to make their own rules rejecting God's commands.
Soon we will be celebrating Jesus' birth. The anti-Christian culture our government has been fostering the last 8 years has resulted in more emphasis on being politically correct than on honoring God. We each need to do our part to play a major role in proclaiming the true meaning of Christmas; Jesus is the reason for the season! WE can spread the good news of the Savior whose birth we celebrate.
Yes, continue to rejoice in our Savior and teach our kids and share with friends the true meaning of Christmas! That God Himself became man to pay our sin debt that we may all spend eternity with HIM. All the wonderful lights of Christmas honor Jesus Who is the Light of the World! Let us see and rejoice in Him!
JOY TO THE WORLD! THE LORD HAS COME!

Hey, my friends, I stumbled across a Scripture that I really enjoyed. This translation is in the Message Bible whose accuracy isn’t what some of the others are, but its language sometimes brings clarity. i will share part of it with you:
Romans 9:27-33 (MSG)
Isaiah maintained this same emphasis: If each grain of sand on the seashore were numbered and the sum labeled “chosen of God,” They’d be numbers still, not names; salvation comes by personal selection. God doesn’t count us~ He calls us by name. (btw, This is what Isaiah 43:1(AMP) says too~ I call you by name. You are Mine!) Arithmetic is not his focus. . .
How can we sum this up? All those people who didn’t seem interested in what God was doing actually embraced what God was doing as He straightened out their lives.
And Israel, who seemed so interested in reading and talking about what God was doing, missed it. How could they miss it? Because instead of trusting God, they took over. They were absorbed in what they themselves were doing. They were so absorbed in their “God projects” that they didn’t notice God right in front of them, like a huge rock in the middle of the road. And so they stumbled into Him and went sprawling.
Isaiah (again!) gives us the metaphor for pulling this together: Careful! I’ve put a huge stone on the road to Mount Zion, a stone you can’t get around. But the stone is me! If you’re looking for me, you’ll find Me on the way, not in the way.
Romans 9:33 in the New Life Version says it this way:
The Holy Writings say, “See! I put in Jerusalem a Stone that people will trip over. It is a Rock that will make them fall. But the person who puts his trust in the Rock (Christ) will not be put to shame.”
Because of my experiences with God, the first words to grab my attention were that God doesn't count us, He calls us~ by name. Oh how beautiful it was when I first was dealing with a cancer diagnosis, and God took me to
Isaiah 43 and told me He was calling me by my NAME. He knew me. He loves me. I am a treasured daughter! Our mighty God calls me by my first name! Wow, did that ever lift me up above any negative the enemy could try and use against my emotions!
Having a personal relationship with God goes far above any intellectual knowledge, far above any historical study. Holy Spirit guides our relationship. He teaches us, protects us against satanic influences in our thought life, convicts us of incorrect thoughts and attitudes. When we grow sensitive to His touch, it is so heart filling. He loves us so much and encircles us in His love, demonstrates His love and care throughout the day. Until you desire a personal relationship with Him, you will never know it, and friends, it is SO worth having a close connection with God!
Begin today, my friends, to seek out His heart. Be not afraid to give your heart to God, He will handle it with gentleness and reverence. No one can imagine the peace and quiet joy that comes to rest within, when we live in love and harmony with our Creator, Savior, and indwelling Holy Spirit. God holds us close to His own heart; He is love.
That Stumbling Block? Yes that is Jesus. He’s right there in the middle of the road. You cannot get around Him without a lot of effort. Why would you want to? Pride in knowledge, believe you have figured life out without the help of God? That path ushers one right into the demon’s lair. You’ve heard 'pride is the deadliest of sins’? Now you know why.
Dear ones, do not allow satan to make Jesus a stumbling block in your life. Rather, go to Jesus and request His help to come to know Him. Be humble enough to recognize that God is much greater than we are; be willing to give your life to Him; allow Him to be your King! Follow His lead and be reborn into a totally new life of dynamic love!

Lord another month is about to fall off the calendar. The year has been so full and gone so swiftly, I want to slow it down. I want more time with You, my Lord. So this morning I must capture my thoughts, thus I command: "Quiet mind; quit the racket. Just be still and
Hear what my Lord would say to me":
Quiet your body as well Mary. Yes you look at the responsibilities of the coming 3 weeks, and you are allowing anxiety to creep in and take over your physical body. This causes imbalance. What is it that you need to do?
You are right, Lord. That is just what is going on! And I know what to do:
I give these next 3 weeks to You. You run them Your way. You be in charge. Show me the way to be still during them, and I will float through the time as a leaf on a stream riding the current. Already I feel the tension seeping out of my body.
My God, You are so good to me. Thank You for caring about every little thing in my life. And Jesus, thank You for telling me that You will carry my burdens, I carry Your light burden; yes, I will put all my trust in You.
Matthew 11:28-30 (AMPC)
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.
30 For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.
That’s just what You did Jesus. I was stressed about being responsible for the kids for so long. My stomach was reacting, my troubled sleep was a result of it. I knew I needed to come to You. And You, faithful as always, hit the nail squarely on the head, revealed the problem, and gave me the solution. You are so good to me! Thank You!
My friends, are you in a time of stress right now? Are circumstances burdening you down? Is your physical condition bearing the brunt of this dis-ease? Well you don't need some man created superhero. Jesus is the solution. He is always prepared to relieve any stress connected with our life; just go to Him and ask. Our God is faithful and He is powerful enough to handle everything in our behalf. He will cause all things to turn out for our best interest when we rely on Him. Claim His Word:
Romans 8:28 (AMPC)
We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to His design and purpose.
We are all God's kids, and God loves you and me so much! It is His fondest wish to demonstrate His love for/in us. If you have not done so already, open the door and invite Jesus into Your life. It’s so much easier going through everyday with supernatural help. If you think that is a crutch and prefer do do it all by yourself, go for it. That’s the ways of a 2 year old~ ”self, I want to do it myself!”. Believe me, living life with God is so much more fulfilling!
I love you and My wish for you is:
2 Corinthians 13:14 NIV
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

My friends, as you know I have written a book called “Cast Up A Highway”, and perhaps you are wondering where that title came from. Today I'm going to share the story of the book with you.
Long ago and not too far away, there were a couple of days when I was feeling grunchy, like Linus with a cloud over my head, and that’s just not like me. So one evening I said to the Lord, “We need to have a little chat”. Next morning as I sat down for my quiet time with God, my Bible opened to:
John 15:10-11 (AMP)
If you keep My commandments and obey My teaching,
you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love.
11 I have told you these things
so that My joy and delight may be in you, and that
your joy may be made full and complete and overflowing.
I looked at verse 11, and I said, “Jesus, I keep Your commands, so I qualify for this promise and I claim it!” Jesus filled me with HIS joy from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. That special joy remained~ even when I got the phone call from the doctor that afternoon which said, “Mary, I have bad news for you, you have breast cancer.“ Because of the joy, no fear could enter into me. I simply asked, “What do I do now?” She was surprised that my response held no negatives, no fear.
The next morning during quiet time, I could almost hear the enemy say laughingly, “Gotcha now!” But with knowledge and determination I spoke back to him something our Pastor taught: “Don’t speak to God about your mountain; rather speak to your mountain about your God” “Devil”, I said, “you don’t know my God. He is so much bigger and stronger than anything you try to do to me”. And I laughed at him.
Then God gently spoke to me through:
Isaiah 43:1-2 (AMP)
. . .“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you [from captivity];
I have called you by name; you are Mine!
2 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you.
When you walk through fire, you will not be scorched,
Nor will the flame burn you.
With these reassuring promises from my God, the enemy had no chance of winning this battle! My God calls me by name. He knows me personally and claims me as His own! This was a joyful time in my life. When the doc talked about losing my hair, I said “Yea! With Jesus joy in me, my bald head will be a witness to everyone who sees me!
(Funny aside: My grandkids wanted me to take my hat off so they could see my bald head. I took it off, and they laughed and said, “You look just like Daddy!” Their Dad’s a tall muscular man who shaves his head. We all had a great laugh!)
My days passed as they all do, and through all the chemo and radiation, His joy never left me. At the end of all treatments I was pronounced free of the disease, my hair eventually grew back, and routine was once again established.
Then God began to work on a special project. He ‘gave’ me a Scripture, that is, I began to see these verses in a number of different places, hear on the radio, and see it in various kinds of publications. Finally, I ‘got it’. “OK Lord,” I said, “what do you want me to do with this?” The Scripture was:
Isaiah 62:10 (AMPC)
Go through, go through the gates!
Prepare the way for the people. Cast up, cast up the highway!
Gather out the stones.
Lift up a standard or ensign over and for the peoples.
I thought, "What am I suppose to do with that?"
Now my brother is an engineer, so I called him and asked “how do you build up a highway?” Briefly, this is what he said: “first you have to go down to bedrock for a firm foundation. Then you build pilings on it; on top of the pilings go the footings that support the weight from above; then on the footings go the columns; on top of the columns goes the roadway with rebars in the cement for strengthening. Lastly erect the guardrails and signs."
In praying Holy Spirit showed me that each step had a spiritual connection:
- The firm foundation is my Almighty God.
- The pilings are my Faith in God.
- The Footings, of course, are Jesus who tells us in
- Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV)“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
- The columns are the Word of God
- The roadway/highway is my life journey
- The guardrails and signs are the Holy Spirit directing me and keeping me on course to God's heart.
At this point God began downloading Scriptures into me for each step. He wanted His people to know how to build an intimate relationship in their hearts with His heart, and this book is a guide for doing that. Once the basic structure is complete, you will also discover 40 days of meditations to help 'maintain your highway.'
May you all be blessed as you absorb the message of this writing. For more information about it, go to www.castupahighway.com. If you are interested in buying this book, you may find some copies on Amazon or you can go to the publisher:
Thank you! maryc

It is our Almighty God!
I could see it reflected in the mirror~ the golden sky. Grabbing my camera I rushed out to the street so I would not miss anything. Clouds that were golden began sliding into rich orange-red. Click. click. I began collecting another illustration of the deep love of our God. Do you also stop sometimes and think on the beauty God created here for us to enjoy? He did it because He loves us so much, He wanted us to inhabit a bit of His splendor.
I found this teaching at the beginning of 2016, and I feel like I need to listen to it again. How about you?
We want God’s power in our lives but this is important here:
Don’t look at the obstacles as things that are negative. Look at them as positives. This too shall pass. God will get glory in my body. God will get glory in my finances. He will get glory in me. He leads us down the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake, that He may show His glory in you.
“When I lead you out to wherever you’re going and whatever you’re doing, I’m doing it for My name”~ to get glory for Himself, that people would see.
Now you and I are that light in a dark world. We are the salt of the earth. We are that in the earth which draws all men unto God. It’s not for our sake, but for His sake. So if you have challenges in your life and difficulties along your path, that thing before you exists for one purpose. I want you to think in your mind of the difficulty or the challenge you’ve had recently and I want you to put that in your mind right now . . . If the Lord was standing here and He asked you, “What can I do for you?” You think of that one thing. Hold it in your mind. That one thing exists for one purpose—that He may be glorified.
And all that means is this: if it exists, then there is grace to meet that thing! Whether it be a physical ailment or a financial situation, if it exists, there is grace for it. Above and beyond you could imagine or think. We all want miracles.[end]
The blind man received His sight, and God got the glory. The paralyzed man was healed, and God got the glory. The centurion's servant was given life, and God got the glory. When miracles happen, God gets the glory. People are drawn to know God, and that will eventually bring them to salvation. God will get the glory when He helps solve our challenges, put our 'situation' to rights. The grace is there for us.
This is a step beyond positive thinking. It’s trusting God fully! And why not?
A. For finances He said:
“Begin by being honest. Do honest people rob God?
But you rob me day after day. “You ask, ‘How have we robbed you?’
“The tithe and the offering—that’s how!
And now you’re under a curse—the whole lot of you—
because you’re robbing me.
Bring your full tithe to the Temple treasury
so there will be ample provisions in my Temple.
Test me in this and see if I don’t open up heaven
itself to you and pour out blessings beyond your wildest dreams.
For my part, I will defend you against marauders,
protect your wheat fields and vegetable gardens against plunderers.”
The Message of God-of-the-Angel-Armies.
B. For physical healing He said:
Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV)
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
So many promises in the Bible, and they are true! We trust God and stand on them~ doing our part. Notice Malachi says:
"Bring your full tithe to the Temple treasury so there will be ample provisions in my Temple. Test me in this and see if I don’t open up heaven itself to you and pour out blessings beyond your wildest dreams."
The promises are there, and He is true to them, but we must have the right attitude of heart. God wants our hearts! Is our heart surrendered to God? Do we trust Him to take care of our problem? Are we willing to stand on faith? It's about the relationship. We focus on our mighty God, not the situation.

As time continues its race dragging us into our future, I want to put my heels down and say “WAIT! I want to rest." I want to have Jesus’ rest where I just know His truth and walk thru my days; because sometimes I get too bunched up~ so many things seem to be pushing from behind calling for me to settle them. Then my mind wonders ahead and all the requirements are yelling at my mind ”Do me! I need to be done!” “I’m coming due!” Thus behind and ahead my mind feels beset by obligations.
It’s time to take a deep breath and spend dedicated time with my Lord. When I spend time with Him, my life quiets and stays balanced. So this morning I’ll focus on Him and rest on Him. He brings me a reminder from earlier this year~
“I will never, ever leave you. I will never, ever let you go. Where you go, I go. Where you put your feet, I am right there with you. Even the decisions that you might make that maybe could take you this way or take you that way, I am still with you. I have anointed you. I have equipped you to do My plan, My purpose through you. So don’t quit or give up or give in or lay it down but lift it up and bring it to Me and I will make ... I said I would not leave you. I said I would not leave you. I am with you today, tomorrow, for the rest of your life on this earth I am with you.
My grace is sufficient. My anointing is in you and My anointing breaks every yoke that tries to come against you. So when you worship, lift your heart when you lift worship unto Me. And that worship brings almost a scent, a smell... the only way I can say it, concerning what I called you to do. I have called you. I have anointed you. I have equipped you. I am with you and My presence will continually stay with you.
It takes me back to the basics. When I come to my Lord He “sits right down with me” and leads me into what He wants me to know and to focus on. He is always with me, and I can leave things in His hands and he will lead me with wisdom and energy. Sometimes I just leave things in His hands and it’s like He says, “I got this one.”
My favorite Scripture says,
Psalm 138:8 (AMPC) The Lord will perfect that which concerns me
Then I also reflect on Matthew:
Matthew 6:28-30 28
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me,
for I am gentle and lowly in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Take these two Scriptures together and for me they create a place of rest, of freedom from pressure. Simply rely on our Lord’s ability… that’s it. Just learning how to get out of the way~ that’s really what grace is all about… how to get out of the way! Let God do His job.
Letting go and getting out of the way allowing Him to do His job coupled with believing His Word is what brings relief.
So if you’ve had a rough passage like my recent experience, Seek the Lord and pray out His Scripture promises. I am now feeling free and happy! No more bunched up mind; no more burdens; They are no longer mine. You see I traded them with Jesus. He has my burdens and I trust in Him and His Word, so no burdens are left. Trust Him, my friends, and you too can find His rest.

In a previous blog I spoke of a door and I could only see the light under it, but I was excited to go through the Door. Now I find this Scripture:
So Jesus said again, I assure you,
most solemnly I tell you,
that I Myself am the Door for the sheep.
8 All others who came [as such] before Me are thieves and robbers,
but the [true] sheep did not listen to
and obey them.
9 I am the Door; anyone who enters in
through Me will be saved (will live).
He will come in and he will go out [freely],
and will find pasture.
Last night, on the feast of the Ascension, a very dear long time friend went home to Jesus. He walked through the Door. We were going out to visit them later this summer, but a devastating accident cut his earthly life short. It is a heart struggle to remember in our sadness, he is now living in joy eternally with Jesus. For him I am so happy; for his wife and family and friends, it is difficult knowing we still have to live for a time here on earth without him. However, time is flying, so perhaps it will not seem that long until we join him in eternity.
I believe there are no coincidences; they are just circumstances in which God chooses to remain anonymous. Our friends wife and I were roommates and best friends. My husband was his roommate and best friend. Long ago there was a snowy night when she and I went out to “meet some guys”. Weather almost kept us home, but we went anyway. It was this night she met Brad. When I returned from a long summer trip, she told me they had gotten engaged. Although I was delighted for her, I was feeling a little blue wondering what I would do?
I smile in remembrance of Brad's soft spoken ways, his quiet sense of humor, and his caring nature. I particularly remember how his caring came out strong this one time~ it was the day when I was really feeling down, and Brad and Sharon invited me to join them that night to go have a drink together. And glory be, it was also the night that Bill and I met. . . Our dear friend invited his roommate (who just happened to be Bill) to come meet us when he got off work, and we all had a wonderful time together. Two weeks later, my husband of almost 50 years, and I were engaged. Need I say more?
God had interwoven His plan perfectly. His plan for us and His plan of salvation which is also perfect. Brad had a peaceful beautiful death; he just breathed his last 2 breaths and walked through the Door into Jesus arms. It was a time when heaven was touching earth and those present got to be a part of it.
1 Corinthians 15:55 (AMPC) O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?
Jesus conquered death. We have no need to fear death when we have chosen Jesus as Lord of our lives. Jesus' death and resurrection purchased salvation for us. Now we just admit we are sinners, need saving, accept His gift, and live a life full of joy on earth and in eternity. This is God’s perfect plan of salvation and it is open to all.

Another answer to Morgan Freeman's search for God has to be faith. So what is faith?
According to Webster’s Dictionary there are various definitions of faith: The assent of the mind to the truth of what is declared by another; firm and earnest belief on probable evidence of any kind; belief in what is given forth as a revelation of man’s relation to God and the infinite; a settled conviction in regard to religion.
For me a main source of faith comes from Biblical truth which has been verified by many studies of ancient scripts. The Bible is the Word of God and it’s truth can be trusted. Because of this, we can find much to rely on when we know His Word. My statements come partly from faith, partly from personal experience.
For me, faith is a living growing part of who I am, for it is my experience with God Himself. The relationship that I have with God has grown over a good many years. There was a time when this was not true. I grew up in a religion and it taught me many truths. As time passed I began to choose or interpret what I would believe~ often according to the current “new age” of thinking.
This sorta worked for awhile; then I was invited to a church by friends whom I admired and trusted. My first taste of God there was invigorating. After several weeks, my experience of God became profound. There was one particular service where the anointing of His Presence invaded my very soul. Tears flowed. I knew I had been touched in the core of my being by God Himself. After this I committed my life to Jesus, for I knew that I knew the truth. From here on my spiritual growth continued to increase as God led me along the road of many experiences and lessons.
With God life is a bed of roses~ full of beauty and lovely fragrance, and THORNS. Yes, as a Christian, my experiences were varied in every way. I loved my personal relationship with God! Life was good. . . until the thorns punctured my soul. Yes some tests in life are not fun at all.
But without challenges we do not grow stronger. It was through these challenges that my faith and my trust in God became more resolute. He never took me through things that were futile nor more than I could handle. Now as some people say, “there were times when I felt He had over estimated me.” But in the long run, it was exactly what was needed in my life to prepare me for moving up to higher levels of wisdom and knowledge.
Example #1: My business had dropped off and finances were really short. It did not make sense, because I was good at what I did. It just was strange! I was obedient to God and could not understand the circumstances I was left in. The climax came when a good order was cancelled through no fault of me own. It was the final straw! I drove to a park and confronted God with my tears of frustration. It was a Wednesday and I went to church on Wednesday nights. I demanded of God, “You better do something for me tonight!”
That night we had a visiting minister, and as he stood up there and began speaking, I knew it was just for me! Indeed it was a prophecy for my life. I knew because he quoted some exact words which I had spoken in my frustration. God had given me something much more than finances! He had spoken directly into my life. I was exhilarated!
Example #2: Another test came when the big C attacked my body. It happened this way:
There were a few days when my mood was like Linus with a rain cloud over my head, and that is totally not like me. So I said to the Lord that evening, “We need to have a little chat”. So next morning during my quiet time I opened my Bible, and it ‘happened to open’ to the book of John chapter 15 where I began to read verses 9 to 11:
9 I have loved you just as the Father has loved Me;
remain in My love
[and do not doubt My love for you].
10 If you keep My commandments and obey My teaching,
you will remain in My love,
just as I have kept My Father’s commandments
and remain in His love.
11 I have told you these things so that My joy and delight may be in you,
and that your joy may be made full and complete and overflowing.
I looked at that promise in verse 11 and said, “Jesus, I keep your commandments, therefore I qualify for Your joy, and I claim it!”
His joy filled me from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. It was that very afternoon that I got a call from my doctor that said, “Mary I have bad news, you have breast cancer.” Oh I responded, what do I do now? She expected anything but that quiet fearless reaction. That joy of Jesus covered me from that morning all the way through every treatment, and fear could not pierce a being full of joy!
Next morning in quiet time, Jesus gave me 2 verses of Scripture:
Isaiah 43:1-2 (AMPC)
. . . Fear not, for I have redeemed you
[ransomed you by paying a price instead of leaving you captives];
I have called you by your name;
you are Mine.
2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you,
and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched,
nor will the flame kindle upon you.
The entire journey through this challenge was a joy, for I had the special supernatural joy of Jesus in me, and I had the promises of God to cover me the whole time.
It was after this test was finished and healing was complete that God gave me the Scripture~
Isaiah 62:10 (AMP)
Go through, go through the gates,
Clear the way for the people;
Build up, build up the highway,
Remove the stones, lift up a banner over the peoples.
It took awhile but the purpose for that Scripture from my Lord became the book Cast Up A Highway. God told me He wanted a testimony to show His children how to travel through difficult times with joy. His desire was to lead His children down the highway straight to His heart. So Morgan, read the book for a new road to travel on.
SEARCHING FOR A CLOSER WALK WITH GOD
SEARCHING FOR A CLOSER WALK WITH GOD
Sometimes the terrible awesomeness of God hits me and sends me reeling into deep meditation. It always carries its reward of a new closeness with my God. It happened this morning. In the beginning I was distracted with my mind wandering here and yon. Then I ‘woke up’ and commanded it to return. God is so good! Holy Spirit began to lead me in prayer.
Sorry, my Lord. I come to our meeting this morning with scattered thoughts; help me, Lord, to rein them in. That You even desire to meet with me is so amazing! Deep breath. Moses asked God, “what shall I say when they ask 'Who sent me’?” You responded, “Say the Great I AM sent me.” You, God, are not hemmed in by time. For You there is no ‘was, will be’, there is only I AM. Before You I bow down my heart, my 'who I am' I submit to You; help me become who You created me to be.
Exodus 3:13-14 (AMP)
13 And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them? 14 And God said to Moses, I Am Who I Am and What I Am, and I Will Be What I Will Be; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I Am has sent me to you!
- Footnotes: Exodus 3:15 To know the name of God is to witness the manifestation of those attributes and apprehend that character which the name denotes.
Can you feel the depth of that name? 'I AM' signifies so much ~ timelessness, absolute love, supreme power, unimaginable expansion ~ an incomprehensible being, totally surrounding. There simply are not words to express the grandness of Who our God is. HIS LOVE FOR US S SO APPARENT IN HIS WORD!
Psalm 91:14 (AMP)
Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].
Isaiah 52:6 (AMP)
Therefore My people shall know what My name is and what it means; therefore they shall know in that day that I am He who speaks; behold, I Am!
Indeed my God! You are the great I AM! This measures so deep and so high and so wide. You revealed Your staggering magnificence to David, and it comes out here:
O Lord, you have examined my heart
and know everything about me.
2 You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
Even when it’s my mind traveling on tangents.
3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home.
You know everything I do.
4 You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
5 You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand!
7 I can never escape from your Spirit!
I can never get away from your presence!
8 If I go up to heaven, you are there;
if I go down to the grave, you are there.
9 If I ride the wings of the morning,
if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
and your strength will support me.
You are always with me.
You will guide me.
You will always be my support. Your strength
upholds me, protects me, supports me.
Lord, You are so good! What a privilege to know You! Thank You that You continue to grow me closer to You. Thank You! I love being together with You, my Lord.
